Seriously what kind of monsters have I raised?!

I'm allowed to disown my kids over this right?

I would inform the school.

Chemenger · 09/07/2021 08:14

@thisplaceisweird

Horrendous. Who likes strawberry ice-cream?
I was quite shocked to witness my own brother order strawberry ice cream in a restaurant when choc mint chip was available. I spent a summer packing strawberries when I was a teenager, which means I never choose strawberry anything unless I know it’s an artificial flavour.
AlfonsoTheMango · 09/07/2021 08:15

Are they too old to put up for adoption, OP?

JingsMahBucket · 09/07/2021 08:27

@LadyMonicaBaddingham

Nah, it's useful - I only ever want vanilla ice cream for affogato, anyway
Ooooh. Affogato is a really excellent idea for using up the vanilla. Especially on a warm evening.
Buhbup · 09/07/2021 08:31

I just think of Roger’s Profanosaurus when I see Neapolitan ice cream

steppemum · 09/07/2021 08:37

you've trained them wrong.

We used to live somewhere where the only flavoured ice cream was neopolitan.

Mine thought it was the law that you have to scoop across all 3 flavours so you got a bit of each.

When theyrealised that they could eat it differently, there was uproar.

PiggyPlumPie · 09/07/2021 08:42

Not forgiven my DD for scooping just strawberry to add to a smoothie. About 6 years ago, it still gets mentioned.

WeatheringStorms22 · 09/07/2021 08:47

Much like a dog with poor recall is usually due to the owners - I'm afraid this is your fault op, due to failure to train them in correct neopolitan distribution etiquette.

GiantHaystacks2021 · 09/07/2021 08:47

Yuk.
Block ice cream is down there with steakhouse chips and flat coke.
Urgh.

GiantHaystacks2021 · 09/07/2021 08:47

.... and potato wedges. Barf.

Hotelhelp · 09/07/2021 08:47

They should disown you for buying that!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 09/07/2021 08:49

this is normal
I only eat the chocolate

Tal45 · 09/07/2021 08:57

Perfectly reasonable behaviour IMO.

NothingIsWrong · 09/07/2021 08:57

We always had to scrape end to end in lines to get equal quantities of each flavour...

KatherineJaneway · 09/07/2021 09:28

Everyone leaves the crap flavour, just like everyone leaves the orange flavoured chocolate until last

Hallyup6 · 09/07/2021 09:38

Vanilla is the best, strawberry is gross and you only need a tiny bit of chocolate because it's so rich.

Please can I have your kids? Mine leave me all the strawberry.

Youdiditanyway · 09/07/2021 09:43

I never liked the chocolate, always much preferred strawberry and vanilla.

Vanillaradio · 09/07/2021 10:10

Ds would have left the strawberry and eaten the chocolate and vanilla! My favourite is the orange chocolate!!!

Radio4ordie · 09/07/2021 10:31

@Hellocatshome

You have to have equal amounts of each flavour in each serving otherwise its just anarchy!
Well if you will buy ice cream no one wants to eat Wink I’m with the kids on this one!
EerieSilence · 09/07/2021 10:36

I can give you worse. Jars with the walls covered with chocolate spread but empty inside. That's how my DH operates.
One day he is going to find himself murdered because he did that to DD's holy spread and she's watching him like a hawk now whenever he goes near the cupboard.

Confusedandshaken · 09/07/2021 10:37
@Motogogo this was from Tesco, but seems I should have just bought strawberry and chocolate and not bothered.
But you know if you did that they'd be begging for vanilla.

Mrsjayy · 09/07/2021 10:38

I used to do this when I went to my Grans on a Sunday I clearly was a terrible terrible child Grin
