Does this sound like a panic attack?

I’ve been feeling quite stressed lately and haven’t been sleeping well with one thing and another, but yesterday I went to get my hair done at the hairdressers. The stylist was doing my hair and we were chatting perfectly normally and then all of a sudden I started to feel like I wasn’t really there, my heart started to race so hard like it was coming out my chest and I could hear it in my head. I felt tingly all over and at one point I thought I was going to pass out. I managed to bring myself back to by breathing deeply, but felt on edge for ages after. I’ve only had one proper panic attack once, years ago when I was teenager, but this was different.
Does it sound like a panic attack to anyone else?

Yes it does to me. Sounds vey similar to symptoms have previously experienced during a panic attack. Particularly the tingling sensation in my arms, head . This, I think, is due to breathing to quickly and losing the carbon dioxide in the blood. If you use a paper bag, this will help stop the tingling. I hope you're ok, it can be very frightening

I don’t even know where it came from or what triggered it, as I felt ok prior to that. I was just sitting and chatting to stylist and then bam. Not helped by the fact it was hot and I was wearing a cloth face mask.

That's why panic attacks are so tricksy. They creep up on you. Being hot and wearing a mask could be triggers.

Yes I had one where it felt a switch going off and my brain suddenly went quiet.

It could have been precipitated by shift in hormones, blood pressure, blood sugar, dehydration, coupled with stress.

Yeah a switch flicking is exactly how I’d describe what happened. I feel almost eerily calm this morning though.
