Is there a thread about the football tonight and expected domestic violence spiking?

I was shocked to read today about the expected spikes in domestic violence tonight because of England playing. Apparently a higher spike is expected if they lose but a spike is expected in any event.

I guess all I can do is write about it here, talk about it and invite anyone who wants to talk about it to to join in.

It stinks to high heaven.

Sounds like an alcohol problem, rather than a sport problem

I was talking to someone about this, just this afternoon. I have worked in this area and for me it does put a cloud over football. There are other sports men are into, F1 for example, where there isn’t that association with violence and DV. It does seem specific to football. It saddens me to think how many women will suffer on Sunday.
