Which current kids tv shows do you actually enjoy watching?

Currently being reintroduced to the weird and wonderful world of children’s tv via DS. And I’ve been surprised by how many things I actually quite enjoy!

I am LOVING Small Potatoes, I think it might be the cutest tv show I’ve ever seen. Also Moon and Me, if only for the way Mr Onion randomly says “onions!” Also love singing along to Go Jetters and Grace’s Amazing Machines.

However, I cannot STAND Mr Tumble, although his mild mannered alter ego is just about tolerable.

Anyone else?

Another fan of the Barbie movies too. Personal favourite is Dolphin Magic!

BarryTheKestrel · 07/07/2021 11:45

Bluey and Gigantasaurus are favourites here at the moment.

I'd give anything to never watch another episode of Daniel Tiger's Neighbourhood.

Total dramarama and Mr bean the animated series are favourites in this house

Tv has definitely got better as my kids have got older. I bloody hated Paw Patrol and the like, but now its Teen Titans Go, Amazing World of Gumball and Horrible Histories, all of which I quite like. Yy to that Christmas Teen Titans episode ThinkAboutItTomorrow. I’d love it if they released “all hail the jolly fat man” as a Christmas song Grin

LadyR77 · 07/07/2021 11:49

Horrible Histories, Teen Titans Go, Apple and Onion and The Amazing World of Gumball are all favourites in our house (DS is 8). When he was younger, I used to enjoy Sarah & Duck and Hey Duggee.

Snowisfallinghere · 07/07/2021 11:52

I love Octonauts. Do You Know and Amazing Machines are good. And Old Jack's Boat.

DigitalGhost · 07/07/2021 11:55

Bluey! Me and my husband end up laughing along with our 3 yo. Probably the best kids show atm

DigitalGhost · 07/07/2021 11:58

@KeepYellowBoxClear

Bluey is a firm favourite.. I’ve definitely not cried at some of the episodes Blush

Also a fan of Andy in his many forms - his band and his various time travelling adventures.

Bing can get in the bin.

The episode where the mum goes to baby group and she thinks she's a rubbish mum compared to the others. Pretty sure I even caught my husband with a tear in his eye at that one.

Another vote for Teen Titans Go. It's hilarious.

The "Shrimp and Prime Rib" song from the "take out the robot guard" scene is one of our family songs:

Also this classic:

agree some of the Barbie films are surprisingly good.
Peppa and Ben and Holly are my guilty pleasure and make me laugh out loud.

I quite like a lot of the factual stuff on cbbc-horrible histories, operation ouch, pets factor etc.

Latenightreader · 07/07/2021 15:32

I forgot My World Kitchen, although some of the table manners leave a lot to be desired.

MrsTophamHat · 07/07/2021 15:33

The Thomas and Friends feature length movies on Amazon Prime are really good, as are the songs.

Changedmyname1357 · 07/07/2021 15:36

Bluey, Hey Duggee and Puffin Rock (Netflix) are all brilliant. Surprised to see any love on here for Moon and Me - absolutely terrifying stuff. Collywobble makes me feel genuinely nauseous. Inexplicably, my two year old loves it.

Changedmyname1357 · 07/07/2021 15:38

Can I also give a special mention to the Julia Donaldson films on iPlayer, which will forever remind me of endless snuggly winter afternoons in the middle of lockdown. They were such a tonic to the toddler tantrums and doomscrolling.

usernotfound0000 · 07/07/2021 15:38

Bluey is a fave in our house, I wouldn't dare to admit how many times we've been through them! My favorite episode is when dad takes them swimming and they mock mum for being too serious, dad obviously forgets all the stuff needed to enjoy swimming and mum saves the day! I like to point out that mum's might not be the 'fun parent' but without her, they weren't having any fun!
Older DD likes Maddie Moate stuff and I enjoy that, both the stuff on youtube and C-Beebies is great.

musicinspring1 · 07/07/2021 15:39

Mine are older and I actually enjoy some of the programmes they have on - Horrible Histories , Operation Ouch and then some of the old Nickelodeon stuff that’s having a resurgence - I have a soft spot for Victorious !

Peppallama · 07/07/2021 15:42

Hey duggee and Peppa are my favourite. Ive never understood the peppa hate. I'm sure if she were a boy pig nobody would say she's rude etc. I think she's a feisty female lead! Also helps DH is pretty much daddy pig Grin

Peppallama · 07/07/2021 15:43

C5 also has pip and posy which is nice and gentle..it reminds me of TV when I was little.

I hate Thomas now though, the world one where he's doing stunts Hmm

Pongo101 · 07/07/2021 17:34

I love Puffin Rock. I put it on even when not with DD because i find it so relaxing it sends me to sleep.

SinkGirl · 07/07/2021 17:38

Of course Duggee, it’s the only bearable one.

Although I quite enjoy Storybots on Netflix. Sadly my twins have gone off it and now onlh want to watch The Wiggles (kill me now).

Tobebythesea · 07/07/2021 18:46

Bluey and Hey Duggee. Bing bunny can go and do one.

GirlAloud · 07/07/2021 18:50

I used to love getting stoned & watching In the night garden. Perfect stoner TV. Grin

Tempusfudgeit · 07/07/2021 19:05

Steve and Maggie on YouTube. Entertaining and educational for the children (and I fancy Steve!)

Camomila · 07/07/2021 19:20

Bluey is great, Ben and Holly (me more than DS), and Mako Mermaids on Netflix Blush DH likes Sarah and Duck - mainly so he can randomly shout "Quack!"

DS1s favourite tv show is "inside the factory" atm - I've seen them all so many times.

orinocosfavoritecake · 08/07/2021 11:14

Sarah and Duck and Numberblocks.
