Most young people/teenagers seem to take off their shoes without untying the bow. Do you see that as well and why do they do that?

I'm not a teen or young. I tie my shoes just 'right' so that I can slip them on and off. They're not loose and they're not tight, they're .... just right 😁

LemonRoses · 07/07/2021 08:54

Hasn’t this happened since shoes were given laces?

Celandines · 07/07/2021 08:59

Saw some Nike FlyEase shoes on the last leg that you put on and take off completely hands free news.nike.com/news/nike-go-flyease-hands-free-shoe

Throughabushbackwards · 07/07/2021 09:11

I'm 44 and I slip my trainers on and off without touching the laces. Does this mean I'm still cool or what?

lollypoppi · 07/07/2021 11:45

Don't think it's only young uns and teens. I'm in my 30's and I do it too 😂

SirenSays · 07/07/2021 12:02

Faster, easier. I can't even remember the last time I tied my laces. All my shoes/boots with them are tied just right for slipping on and off.

WhiskeyNeverStartsToTasteNice · 07/07/2021 12:31

I'm late 40s and do this. I'm just lazy.

starrynight21 · 07/07/2021 12:38

I'm 63. I've always done that.

I also take off shirts without undoing the buttons. Gasp !

BarefootHippieChick · 07/07/2021 12:53

Because they're lazy. Both my teenagers admit this is why they do it.

Legomania · 07/07/2021 13:05

Op, are you a martian?

Nietzschethehiker · 07/07/2021 13:07

I'm 42 and I do this.

If ever my life becomes so small I concerned that this is an issue I shall know there is a problem because noone on their deathbed says that they are so very glad they spent time trying and untying laces.

I remember this almost exact thread was posted months ago, why have you posted it again? Are you still confused?

TheOnlyKoiInAPondOfGoldfish · 07/07/2021 13:11

lol - late 60's here - and I've always done it - AND the "blouse over the head still buttoned up" thing. Does that mean I'm still a teenager at heart?

namechange90832 · 07/07/2021 13:12

So OP posted this exact thread back in March and again in April....weird.....

BasicallyBookish · 07/07/2021 13:53

I have a disability that means I struggle to reach my feet. Back when I could wear normal shoes I did this. If they were undone for any reason I’d do them up, then put them on. But now I have to wear special stretchy velcro shoes from the hospital and have a carer put them on. I really miss my skechers!

Early onset dementia?

BarefootHippieChick · 07/07/2021 14:41

Tbh op has actually posted it 6 times in several different categories. Is op a bot?!!

Livpool · 07/07/2021 14:53

I do it too and I am 41

Allinprogress · 07/07/2021 14:54

Because they’re lazy little feckers

rewardacrosstrack · 07/07/2021 22:58

I do this because I don't like my laces to be unequal in tightness and it takes me ages to get it right again if I do untie them. Just slip my feet straight back in...

reluctantbrit · 07/07/2021 23:06

DD, 14, does it. I don't care about her trainers but I do say something about her leather lace up school shoes. if you do it with soft leather shoes, the leather softens and widens, this means the foot is less supported.

It is easy to turn an ankle in a badly laced-up shoe so I tell DD off.

I had to sit down to lace/unlace my shoes for a year, I still survived it. it is lazyness.

My Dad used to tell me off for doing it when I was a child/teen.
I'm 43 and still do it.

Sbsh · 07/07/2021 23:13

I'm not a teen and I do that, easier and quicker.

LightAsTheBreeze · 07/07/2021 23:15

DS never used to even tie his laces, he used to just tuck them in his shoes, must have been uncomfortable if he stood on one
