Lego land queues

Just wondering what the queues are like on a Monday term time? Should we still be prepared for business?

Surely you pre-book into a time slot these days so you're not queuing all at the same time and everyone is prepaid?

LittleBearPad · 04/07/2021 23:48

I assume they mean the queues for the rides, not to get in.

Term time (pre-covid) OP was always pretty civilised. Depending on how old your kids are. There will be more pre-schoolers than school age kids.

ilkleymoorbartat · 04/07/2021 23:48

Yes sorry, queues for the rides.

Kids are 7 and 5.

It’s over 10 years since we went but on of the days we were there was a random Monday in term time. It was really quiet. No queues for the rides, we just went on the dragon rollercoaster about 10 times in a row. Obviously this was a long time ago, but hopefully it’ll still be pretty quiet in term time.

The queues will be there! Just full of Scottish people 🙂

ilkleymoorbartat · 05/07/2021 07:56

Oh gawd! I forgot about Scotland's holidays, was hoping I'd hacked it with inset day 🤦🏻‍♀️

We went recently and the longest queue was for the driving license ride but then that was only about half an hour.

That was on a term time day before the May half term and it was still fairly busy but manageable.

ThatWasCrazy · 05/07/2021 08:02

Don't know if it is comparable but we went to Alton Towers last Monday and it was horrendous. Absolutely horrendous queues. Wine

I had hoped it would just be some intrepid Scots like us (not all of Scotland was even on holiday yet!) but I think everyone in the UK was there.

Have Legoland booked for a Thursday at the end of July.
I know it will be heaving and have booked reserve and ride.
Any other top tips?

Russell19 · 05/07/2021 08:07

I went to Alton Towers on a Monday a few weeks ago. Never queued for more than 20 minutes. Cbeebies land was busy when we got there at 10am but literally went dead from about 12. The biggest queues were for the monorail and to get in! So arrive early.

Equimum · 05/07/2021 08:10

It wasn’t horrendous when we went, but there were some 30ish minute queues. Round here, a few of the private schools finished last week, so that may make it a bit busier this month.

ilkleymoorbartat · 05/07/2021 08:18

Seems totally unpredictable about how busy it will be!

We went at the weekend and only a couple of times I saw the queues more than an hour (so we avoided and came back later).

bookworm14 · 05/07/2021 08:46

We went on an inset day a few weeks ago and it was horrific. 90-minute plus queues for most rides. I’d foolishly thought it would be quiet as most kids would be at school!

BarbaraofSeville · 05/07/2021 09:09

I think 'Legoland on inset day because no-one else will have thought to do that' is so common that it's one of the busiest days of the year Grin.

Best tip I saw was to go early and go right to the far end and work backwards so you're not trying to do the same things as everyone else at the same time. Plus hitting popular attractions at lunchtime is another one.

But if you're looking at before 19 July so they might still be on prebooking/reduced capacity, it might not be as awful as it could be.
