Collagen Drink

Hi All

Has anybody using or tried the daily Collagen drinks and seen any difference?

I'm really tempted to try them but not sure if they make any real difference. If it worked I'd invest but I wanted to ask here to get some reviews or experiences.

It's the long term investment of about £50 per month that's making me hesitant if it's not really worth it. Also I wonder how long you need to take it to start seeing any difference?

I'm 51 post menopausal for what it's worth!

Thank you ❤️

I take a daily collagen supplement, I get mine from Beauty Pie.

I started taking as mid 40s and my hair started to look thin and my skin flat.

I have been taking it for about 4 months now and have noticed an improvement in my hair, nails and skin. I will definitely keep taking it.

I keep getting those ads on facebook. The drinks are £££

Iamanunsafebuilding · 03/07/2021 08:14

I take collagen as well! I started with powder but found it's really sticky and I could taste it in whatever I mixed it with, so I bought capsules from My Protein which are only £14.99 for 90 days supply

You're falling for it! Fb advertising is so pervasive. Try a supplement they're much cheaper. Don't let the bastards get rich on your insecurities .

I use the Ancient & Brave collagen cacao drink as a substitute for hot chocolate (I make mine like a cup of instant coffee, ie more water than milk). I also take daily marine collagen capsules and these definitely make a diff to the quality of my fingernails.

OddSox123 · 03/07/2021 08:23

I started taking Marine Collagen tablets a couple of months ago, £20 for 120.
Not religiously I admit, but didn't really notice any difference. The drinks are costly like you say, maybe better than the tablets however? I did see a video online explaining that collagen supplements are actually a waste of time if your intention is to reduce facial wrinkles. When your body absorbs the collagen it's primary use will go to your internal organs and connective tissues that need it, leaving the skin to benefit from collagen last. It said if you really want to see results from collagen then serums and topical applications are better....apparently.... often it just feels like everyone just wants to sell you something 😂

I’ve just started taking some collagen powder that I bought from Holland and Barratt. The amount of collagen in a powder and in a liquid form is far, far higher than in most tablet formulations which is the reason I thought I’d try it this way first.

Following. I tried the Marine Collagen also, but again intermittently...I don't think I really noticed much of a difference either to be fair, but a friend of mine swears by it

Amazing keep those messages coming Ladies, I'm learning loads!!

I'll be honest I am solely thinking of my face here, not bothered about my nails or hair...Grin

The powder seems interesting but I'm going to keep reading the responses.

Thank you ❤️❤️

The one I take is a powder, I put it in juice, or a smoothie, mixes much better in a smoothie.

CollagenLady · 03/07/2021 09:51

@IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble

Is it working for you? Smile

I definitely think it is and will continue to take it, my hair thinning was starting to upset me and there has undoubtedly been an approvement.

crimsonlake · 03/07/2021 10:58

I have been taking collagen powder for six months, basically I was hoping to reduce wrinkles and have not noticed any difference. I would say my nails are growing faster, no difference in hair thickness. That said I think when I do take it I lose less hair when I wash it. I noticed this when I stopped taking it for a few weeks and saw more hair in the drain.
I read recently that it is absorbed better by the body in cold drinks so have stopped adding it to my morning cuppa. I have also recently started taking Biotin, much more economically priced at around £10 for one years supply of tablets.

Hestartedoffsowell · 03/07/2021 11:01

I take the Hey Nutrition one but I'm not sure it's making any difference, don't think there is enough in a tablet

Iamanunsafebuilding · 03/07/2021 12:29

I mixed the powder into yoghurt

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/07/2021 13:49

Nothings going to reverse your body losing 30% of collagen at menopause.

You wee out excess protein anyway because the body can’t store it & has no interest keeping you looking nice if you can’t get pregnant.

There’s very thin science behind it, the studies that do show improvement tend to be joint pain benefits.

I never understand how the bodies meant to know collagen is only for skin, hair and nails anyway, it’ll be broken up into amino acids and distributed where you need it, you can't target it.

CollagenLady · 03/07/2021 14:00

Thanks for all the messages, I think I'll look for an alternative!

Has anybody tried Profilo??

I take marine collagen capsules with vitamin c from Nu u nutrition. I’ve been taking them for probably a couple of years now, along with biotin and seakelp.

In all honesty I don’t know if they’re making a difference (which would suggest that they’re not!) but it’s become a habit, and I figure they can’t do any harm at least! My diet is terrible so taking supplements - I take others too - makes me feel I’m at least ingesting something that’s good for me!
