Sad news for their children.

A Slither of Aides.

This comes as surprise to absolutely nobody.

Charlie Haughey was long out of office before it became a scandal tho, at the time it was more an open secret but not in the papers etc. That was much later. I agree with pp, if happening with a government employee on the job, of course it's an issue of public interest.

drpet49 · 02/07/2021 23:26

* Yes, probably sad for their children, but I find both of them completely vile so can't muster a great deal of sympathy for either of them.*

  • couldn’t have put it better myself

Telegraph suggesting Covid rules broken with, ahem, no social distancing, and lockdown living arrangements.

I think that kind of stuff makes it tricky for them as it makes people who’ve obeyed them rules very angry.

Clearly something is going to come out about this isn't it?

Twitter awash with rumours again.

I do wonder if this time it's not true though?

During Brexit campaign times Gavin Williamson told David Cameron that Gove was having an affair with Dom Cummings Envy(not envy).

I'm not saying anything here that wasn't reported at the time - in the MoS and then Cummings wife wrote a denial piece in the Spectator.

So perhaps people are resurrecting a previous rumour?

ineedaholidaynow · 03/07/2021 10:03

Gove and Cummings together, that is enough to give anyone nightmares!

@TheSpottedZebra

(The pedant in me is agonising over aid or aide, paired with ingenu that I have already taken the -e off.)
It's aide, as in aide-de-camp.
longwayoff · 03/07/2021 10:19

Although it's more of a marital aid required in this case.

Isn't it just!

notacooldad · 03/07/2021 10:56

Ok, I'm going to show my ignorance.
Why is Sarah Vine hated so much. I have not read any of her articles so I'm in the dark about this.

LadyEloise · 03/07/2021 10:59

@veeeeh I'm in Ireland too and I do care what our politicians get up to.
For me character counts.
My vote is precious, the privilege of voting was hard fought for in the past. I want to use it for the benefit of as many people as possible.
veeeeh you know what Irish politicians are like. Many are self serving. Sad

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/07/2021 12:27

@notacooldad, I haven't read many but she's a columnist who has said some nasty things about various people in the public eye and has often been inconsistent, giving rise to criticism that she'll espouse any opinion to get readers. Plus, marriage to Michael Gove wasn't going to increase her popularity as it shows dubious judgement.

Thanks OP, I haven't read a column from anyone since Jan Moir's criticism of Stephen Gately years ago.
I had a scales fallen from my eyes moment after reading that.

veeeeh I care about the character of our politicians. If they are so easily swayed to to lie and cheat to their nearest and dearest then it doesn't bode well for those that they don't care about.
