Are there any good ghost story films to watch?

I have Netflix and Prime and am looking for a creepy film rather than horror. Something like 6th Sense, The Others or Woman in Black.
I’d appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

The Conjuring would be a good place to start... think classic US ghost story.

DH and I also thought HUSH on Netflix was good, not paranormal but about a deaf woman alone in the woods - very tense!

If you like eerie goings-on in decaying mansions, there's a recent film adaptation of Sarah Waters' The Little Stranger which is very good, and a BBC TV adaptation of Diane Setterfield's The Thirteenth Tale.

Personal Shopper is an interesting indie film with supernatural elements. It's on prime and stars Kristen Stewart.

His House and Malevolent, both on Netflix, are also very good.

Yes, Lost Hearts was terrifying but so subtle. All the BBC dramas of the M R James stories are brilliant.

Yeah, I would, I enjoyed it. It was maybe a tiny smidge longer than it needed to be, but nicely creepy, lovely location, well shot and acted

I'm another who would absolutely recommend Haunting if Bly Manor and Haunting of Hill House. Loved both of them!

The Skeleton Key is a great creepy thriller.

If you can find it there was a film called Ghost Story made in 1981 directed by John Irvin. Frightened the life out of me.
Also the series of Salem's lot with David Soul in it. As a rule I find Stephen King's books don't translate well to film but that one (and Carrie) are definitely worth a look.
