Due to a recent op I’ve got to get used to sleeping on my back in an elevated position. After being a one pillow side-sleeper all my life I can’t do it!

Please help me!

They can be dear but a gravity blanket can help give that feeling of being snuggled up.

I always sleep on my back, It can stop you getting wrinkles in your face.

I read once, that if you sleep on your side, it is preferable that it is your right side. as you should not sleep folded over on the left side, as it bad for your heart being squished up all night.

I’m a lifelong back or front sleeper, don’t do side sleeping. As a PP said, arms above head in a general sprawling fashion is good.

V shaped pillow op. I was encouraged to sleep on my back due to shoulder problems on both sides.
Once I'd got myself with my head at the top of the V and each arm resting along each long side, it was fine. I still choose to sleep like that occasionally.
@PerveenMistry, I actually do have a small teddy to hold now but didn't like to mention it. Never had one until over 50 years old and made this major sleeping change. I found I needed something to do with my hands as previously been under the pillow or my cheek. It's actually a little toy tiger and helps a lot.
I know what you mean!

I have a live Chihuahua who serves the same purpose. Grin

Thank you for the further tips.

I had a restless night tutting and pffting and redistributing pillows left right and centre but I’ve ordered a wedge pillow and a v shaped one off Amazon so hopefully they will arrive soon and change my life!

I did try the guided meditation but I was too busy being bad tempered to give it my alI! I will try again tonight, and I will also trap the dog and try to hold him all night! That could be interesting … :)

You need to buy another dog, and have one either side of you!
