Soft wrap headbands

I love them. They really suit me. But I cannot get the bloody things to stay on my head, they just end up sliding off the back! I've tried different fabrics, styles to no avail. I've amassed quite a useless collection 😒

Should I just accept I have a weirdly shaped head and move on...or am I missing a trick here??

Hairgrips?

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 01/07/2021 22:10

What about eyelash glue?

I have exactly the same problem and had come to the same conclusion that my head shape isn’t suited to headbands. So I empathize, but haven’t found a solution.

You wear the bastards until they stretch enough to stay put. I have 3 that are suitably trained. The rest I just have to keep readjusting 20 times a day until they stretch out too,

Adviceneeded4 · 01/07/2021 22:15

Could you put dots of glue gun glue on the underside?

Notsoaccidentproneanymore · 01/07/2021 22:21

And glue it to your head? Isn’t that a it extreme???

😂 just a tad extreme.

I love hairbands but I have a small head and super straight hair. They always fall off Sad

I'm laughing my (oddly shaped) head off at the glue gun suggestion 🤣

Glad to know it's not just me though!

Do you buy any chance have fine, slippery hair? I do and have a non-slip hairband that I wear under silk scarves or other slippy headbands. If you search 'wig grip' you should find some options.

If that also slips off then I have no idea!

TreeSmuggler · 02/07/2021 03:08

I think pp means the dried glue would make it less slippery, not glue it to your head!

Nordstrom · 02/07/2021 06:24

@noodlezoodle the opposite- I have quite thick course hair

I'll check out the wig grip though, thanks

I always have this problem…always. Was talking with my hairdresser, who felt my head and asked if I was in a humidicrib when I was born. (I was for nearly four months.) The back of my head is quite flat near my neck and I have really straight, fine, silky, soft hair which doesn’t help either.

Wiredforsound · 02/07/2021 07:04

I don’t think anyone expects you to glue it to your head. Dried glue dots on your headband will provide traction and make them less slippery.

BaileyMiranda · 02/07/2021 17:24

I cheat and use the ones that are u-shaped. Don't know how to explain but here's some on eBay: eBay

BaileyMiranda · 02/07/2021 17:24

Really laughing at 'glue them to your head?!' Grin

Adviceneeded4 · 04/07/2021 18:50

Omg I am so sorry! Yes let the glue dry and it has a non slip texture. I saw it as a hack for the bottom of toddler socks if they keep slipping on hard floors. DON'T glue them to your head!

I'm glad you clarified but thank you for the giggle 😊
