Does anyone have a stand mixer for the kitchen that they recommend? I feel like kitchenaid is the most well known but that doesn’t always = the best

Kenwood

Kenwood Chef is brilliant. My ma has one still going after 40+ years. Mine is coming up a year old and I wouldn't be without it. I bought the mincer and the food processor attachments. I use it pretty much daily.

I watched Bake Off a while ago and one of the contestants shattered a Kitchenaid bowl with the machine running. Totally put me off them even if they are all bonnie colours!

Kenwood chef, brilliant machines.

Proper Kenwood, absolutely. K-Mix? Not so much. If the glass bowl doesn't shatter you're doing well. The lift mechanism packed in on mine, DH managed to fudge it, but it means it doesn't have the safety cut out it should when you lift the head. Meanwhile the Kenwood Chef MIL bought in 1970 has never missed a beat.
How old is your KxMix? I’ve had one for 9/10 years and it has a metal bowl

I couldn't afford a kitchenaid mixer so bought a Kenwood K-mix from Costco about 9 months ago. I've been very happy with it so far.
It's probably not as good as the more expensive models, but is fine for my needs.

Love my kitchenaid. Best lockdown purchase and use it daily for bread.

I've had my Candy Apple KitchenAid for about ten years and love it. It comes with a metal bowl which definitely won't shatter. We bought a glass one too for when I need two bowls. The Kenwood Chef may work as well ( I've never used one), but the KitchenAid looks so pretty. I keep it out on my work surface all the time so it works as a stylish accessory as well as an excellent piece of equipment.

I was given an AndrewJames mixer and was very happy for several years, then the motor packed up and the whisk thing fell to bits, so I bought a Kenwood KMix on Amazon Black Friday, £189 and was very pleased.
My DIL and DS1 liked it and I managed to get them one from Amazon Warehouse. It was described as having some cosmetic scratches but close examination failed to find any. £182, brilliant.

I have the metal bowl version, several friends had the glass bowl explode and a many posts all over the internet about the K-Mix glass bowls not being brilliant.

I've got a Kenwood Chef titanium, about 10 years old now and used almost every day.
It's a real workhorse and worth every penny.
