..have money and options? Ok
Maybe not live forever but just much longer... would you?
Have more time to do things that maybe you never achieved?

Thanks sugarlost I’ve tried to reach out but lots of brick walls right now. In fact I rang three helplines last night feeling utterly desperate but no one was free to take my call. Lots of desperate people about right now. My GP is no help and ADs disagree with me anyway. And now I feel beyond asking anyone for anything. I’ll just have a massive positive change in circumstances, please - many thanks Grin

Kanaloa · 29/06/2021 21:40

If my loved ones could live with me then yes. I imagine at some point you’d be really jaded and bored though.

felulageller · 29/06/2021 21:40

MarshaBradyo · 29/06/2021 21:41

Depends if my family get to too

MarshaBradyo · 29/06/2021 21:42

And no not forever I think I’d find too long psychologically hard even

Wallpapering · 29/06/2021 21:46

No

Don’t know if because thought horrifies me or that like to believe there got to be an afterlife and another world

TheBobJog · 29/06/2021 21:48

I hope I have a long, happy and healthy life, surrounded by people I love... but no, I don't think I'd want to live forever, or even particularly much longer than the norm.

I find it quite comforting that the people I've known in say, their late 90's, even though they might be quite upbeat and positive in their outlook, are generally totally at peace with dying, and being dead Grin. I think we get 'our time' on this earth, and the important thing is to make the most of it.

sugarlost · 29/06/2021 21:53

@tunnocksreturns2019 Samaritans also have an email address if you look on the website and there's a text support service called Shout if you look online. Exercise helps my mood. Not sure if you've tried different types of AD for possible alternative. You can refer yourself for Talking Therapies via NHS online x
I'm going to focus on this massive possible change as who knows what the future holdsGrin
Don't give up ....I know it's not easy some days are better than others. Be kind to yourself X

@felulageller loving your listGrin

UnChatNoir · 29/06/2021 21:58

Not sure. I think it would be pretty horrendous if your loved ones couldn't live forever, so you had to outlive them all and be alone. Obviously, if you live forever then you can remarry, have more kids etc, but still - what then? You just keep outliving everyone and doing it over and over?

sugarlost · 29/06/2021 22:01

@TheBobJog I hear you but it's not always easy to make the most of life depending on various factors...but I try

@Wallpapering I'm hoping there's an afterlife if my dream doesn't happen 😁

OP posts:
sugarlost · 29/06/2021 22:04

@UnChatNoir there are lots of questions/holes in my plan but maybe there can be an opt out clause if/when you're ready to move on....

If I could be completely healthy and have plenty money , then sure I'd be more than happy to live forever 😊 imagine all the things i could do and the places I could go

Bigwave · 29/06/2021 22:07

I think I'd be pretty bored by 100

Roystonv · 30/06/2021 07:48

Me again, I'm afraid I would prefer to know I can die when I want. One of those who has not really grasped the point of living - feels like someones grand experiment much of the time! We are already keeping people alive too long though I know your plans include health and happiness for all sounds a bit robotic.

Polkadots2021 · 30/06/2021 09:48

@MyFloorIsLava

Living forever is such a weird concept. Like, what happens when the sun goes supernova and the earth is swallowed? Do you continue to live, floating forever in the infinite void of space?
Good point!
Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 30/06/2021 09:51

No, I think the world is getting shittier year by year.

Deadringer · 30/06/2021 09:52

I wouldn't like to live forever, but it would be nice if we could get to about 60, then re-set, keeping all of our memories and experience, while enjoying a second youth.

Deadringer · 30/06/2021 09:53

I meant to say re-set to age 20

Meruem · 30/06/2021 09:54

And what would the retirement age be then, 150? 200? No thanks!
Ideally I would like to not die yet (I’m 51) but a normal life span is fine for me. I wouldn’t want to live longer. I feel I’ve made the most of my time knowing it is limited. If it just stretched endlessly before me I wouldn’t be as motivated and I definitely would get bored.

TangoWhiskyAlphaTango · 30/06/2021 12:24

Hmmmmm that's a big question to answer! I think that living a happy life and not dying young will do me. I see too many people (nurse) have their lives taken away far far too young. I would hate to not see my dc grow up.

You’d be able to say to your kids “ you are never going to be rid of me. You will not be getting an inheritance. I’ll be at your funeral you won’t be at mine.”
Still sound wonderful?

35andThriving · 29/08/2021 13:28

I wouldn't want to live forever.

LemonSwan · 29/08/2021 13:40

I work in a care home.

Ageing is brutal on every level.

Theres no way science can fix that.

So sorry but its a pointless question and I am superstitious about answering these types of questions.

Be careful what you wish for
