If you and your family were churchgoers when you were a child, did you still go to church/mosque/synagogue etc. when you were off on holiday or otherwise away from home ?

Just that really. I'm not seeking to make a point or be nosy, it's simply idle curiosity before I head off to the kitchen to do the washing up!

I've been a churchgoer all my life. We never went on holiday and still don't now. My sister is a vicar so she has sometimes gone when we've been on holidays together but I haven't been with her.
Last year we did watch our online service when on holiday but it was a bit more of a novelty at that point. I'm not even watching that at home now, I'm so done with anything online!

Not as a child But yes as an adult. Since my church has started live stream I attend that on holidays instead. I do get a lot out of attending different churches but dh gets annoyed at me.

@MaBroon21

Do any of the practicing Muslim who’ve posted perform travel prayers or do you still pray 5 times per day?
I perform travel prayers if the prayer occurs whilst I’m on the journey. I’ve stopped off and completed travel prayers at a petrol station whilst the driver refuelled (was a Muslim country and nobody batted an eyelid, others refuelling saw me praying and we ended up a congregation with their womenfolk joining our prayers rows 😂).

At home whilst holidaying in the UK we’ve prayed as normal in the hotel/beach/park wherever we are when the prayer time happens. I usually find a quiet out of the way spot and or ask if there’s somewhere private I can pray if out and the prayer time is waning as I don’t want to miss it.

It’s handy with most phones being able to pin point the prayer direction, although my travel mat comes in a cover with a compass attached to it.

We pray travel prayers whenever the conditions for that are fulfilled (distance from home, time travelling etc). If not, pray in any quiet place we can find! In answer to MaBroon21.

Us kids would be given orange cordial and a bag of salt n shake crisps and have a run around. It was great.

That's DS1s favourite bit of mass too, having jammy dodgers and running round the hall with the other kids afterwards. (Not now with Covid)
