Any tips for visiting Glasgow with a 9yr old?

We're planning on visiting Glasgow as part of a trip to Scotland in late July. It will be me, DP and 9 year old DD.

I'm keen to go to some museums, but there's only so much of that DD will be keen on. I just had a look at the open top bus tours but they don't seem to be on at the moment.

Any thoughts on attractions that might appeal to a 9 year old would be amazing. Also any recommendations of nice (but reasonably priced!) places to eat - we tend to go to pubs for food or nice cafes.

We're coming by train and staying fairly centrally, so anywhere central or easy to get to by public transport would be good.

Both the Riverside Museum and the Science Museum are great for kids

Parks - both Kelvingrove and Bellahouston can be accessed from the city centre (could even walk to Kelvingrove)

A bit outside Glasgow but only about 20 minutes on the bus is Xsite which has indoor adventure golf, indoor skiing and a cinema along with loads of chain restaurants if the weather is not great

Food wise I would recommend Bread Meats Bread for loads of different types of burgers, Tony Macaroni for Italian and if you like sweet things then Stack and Still for multiple different combinations of pancakes

Definitely recommend the Science Centre. There are loads of interactive exhibits, workshops, shows, a planetarium and IMAX screen.
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum has great displays for all the family, including animals, Ancient Egypt and the Floating Heads installation,
For something quirky, try the Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre. Our kids loved the Sharmanka Promenade show. It held their attention for nearly the entire 40 minutes, although they started to fade towards the end.
There are loads of cool murals dotted all over the city and it’s quite fun to hunt them down and get a selfie www.citycentremuraltrail.co.uk/murals/MuralMap
Scotland Street School Museum is good.
The St. Enoch Centre has a Disney Store and Hamleys. Buchanan Galleries has The Lego Store Flying Tiger Copenhagen and Smiggle.
Pollok Country Park has plenty of trails and paths, a great children’s playpark, a fairy village in the walled garden, a café, sheltered woodlands and Highland cattle.
Sugo serves great pasta, sides andsoft-serve ice cream at reasonable prices. Platform has so many options from the street food vendors that you’re sure to find a dish that suits.

I like the sound of some of these places, thanks. We used to go to the museums in London all the time but they've become a bit of a hard sell of late, but perhaps in a new city she'll be keen. I'd like to spend all my time in the art gallery!

Food places sound good too, will look them up

Sharmanka looks interesting but currently only doing private show. Will check back nearer the time

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Riverside Museum are an absolute must. The Hunterian Museum is pretty cool too and you're in the West End which is an amazing place to explore.
The food scene in Glasgow is epic so you won't be disappointed. I prefer heading out to the West End for eating as the city centre isn't quite what it used to be, too chain-y for my liking now but still a few great places. Finnieston especially has some amazing restaurants.
