A baby shower one...

NC for this as I know they use MN sometimes.

Invited to a baby shower soon and the venue has changed from a pub lunch to someone's garden due to restrictions.

Just found out it's also one of those where everyone brings a dish for a buffet and they want to know what everyone is bringing. Obviously others got straight in there with the easy stuff like crisps and dips and I missed the boat!

So, what should I take?

I don't want to go to too much effort, I'm already going simply because the woman whose party it is is lovely, in general I'm not the baby shower type.

It also now specifies non-alcoholic drinks Confused - so from a pub lunch to a picnic with water! Good job I like her...

Scones, clotted cream and jam
This was going to be my suggestion too 😁 scones always seem to go down fairly well.

Quiche! (Shop bought!)

Pasta bake?
A couple of shop bought cheesecakes?
A few bottles of Shloer or Appletiser?

I used to make stacks of little sandwiches (triangular with crusts cut off) for very little Gdcs’ birthday parties when a lot of parents would also be present.
Guess who invariably scoffed most of them, diving in like ravenous gannets?

They are a bit of a PITA to make, but like a lot of trad/retro party food, e.g. sausages on sticks*, IME invariably popular.

*I used to make those, too, but with best quality sausages cut into thirds or quarters.
