Interview tips

My nerves let me down every time. I've blown interviews I'm very qualified for. Literally cannot remember my name.
Im well prepped in terms of material but no sense comes out of my mouth.
What works for you? Beta blockers, hypnosis, a gin? Anything. Please share.

Are you having video interviews at the moment? If so I think it’s helpful to have a bit of paper with some reminders on it.
Can you practice with a friend to get used to the process?

Face to face sadly. I do infinitely better if it is presentation based and I can walk about. It is entirely nerves that get me. No end of practice gets me through shakes and vomiting

Do you get like this in other aspects of life? Like meeting new people? Or performance reviews at work? I’m wondering if there’s a specific part that causes it like the presenting or the feeling of being assessed. Or if you are generally quite an anxious person whether it’s worth seeing a GP? My DP gets really sweaty with nerves but I think vomiting crosses the line into not a normal response and maybe worthy of extra attention.

Thank you. I appreciate the reply. I'm not normally anxious. I've a high volume skilled role that I don't bat an eyelid doing. Equally I give presentations to up to 600 people at a time which I love. It is the exam style situation that gets me.
I've a GI issue that contributes to nausea and vomiting anyway but I cannot cope with feeling like that when I'm in an interview situation.
It's definitely an irrational anxious manifestation.
I'm going to try acupuncture to relax before I hit the medication I think.

I've found betablockers helpful, I take them for a couple of days before & the day of the interview

Thank you. Beta blockers for interview seems to be far more common than I ever realised.
