What is the property market doing near you?

Hopeless first time buyer trying to battle our way through the market and it seems to have come to a massive ground halt where I am in the North West.

Few properties being listed and when they are they are snapping up very quickly, feeling very frustrated! What is the market doing near you and where abouts are you based?

To those with a crystal ball (ha!) When do you think the market will settle? Its been a pirana pool recently and hoping those piranas are replaced with gentle fish soon 🤣

We sold a house by London in February and the market continued to be very strong for places with mid / big gardens, weak for flats and average for houses with small gardens. Looking just now some are starting to reduce again and quite a few back on the market so the bubble may be starting to burst there though early days and what's on Rightmove was what was left.

We’re in the NW (north Cheshire), put our house on the market on a Wednesday, got an offer on Saturday, off market by Monday.

Wasn’t crazy prices, around £15k more than we paid for it 2 years previously, but I think we could have held out for more if we’d wanted. Our neighbours can’t believe how much the houses on this street are worth now, some of them bought for a 1/3 of the price not that long ago!

Bonkers here in central Scotland.

I have heard of houses going for 40 per cent over the home report value, so in excess of £100k over the asking price!

Gatwick area. Price rises have slowed down, guessing its the airport effect, fewer people needing to be near the mainline for commuting.

SW London here. Prices are sky high but people aren't buying.
