Bedbugs :(

Hi, can anyone recommend a way to get rid of bedbugs?? Not sure how but there is something biting my legs at night 😭
Cleaned sheets at 90°, that didn't help
the thought of sleeping is awful thinking there's something there

If its just your legs then more likely to be fleas
Have you checked for signs of bedbugs?

Everydayiwakeupanditsmonday · 19/06/2021 18:45

Search for threads on them, I’ve read some before about how people treated them. Hopefully it’s something else as bed bugs can be difficult to get rid of. Do you have animals? Could it be fleas? Which though horrible, would be preferable!

Newnamenewme13 · 19/06/2021 18:48

Ya it could easily be fleas, I've checked the bed and can't really find anything but the mattress has some darker spots from age so hard to see... Any ideas on getting rid of fleas, and yes I have a dog but he isn't scratching

Do you flea treat your dog and what with?
Indorex is supposed to be good for treating the house

Newnamenewme13 · 19/06/2021 19:51

Thanks for that, I'll look it up... He's overdue the treatment tbh, I'll get that asap too in case it's that... It's awful 😭

I got bitten by bedbugs on holiday and they bit me on any bare flesh - my face included so it's odd it's just your legs?

Do you have pets?

Remmy123 · 19/06/2021 19:57

Just noticed you have a pet - sounds more like fleas

dementedpixie · 19/06/2021 20:27

If your dog hasn't been treated recently then it sounds more like fleas than bedbugs.

mindutopia · 19/06/2021 20:34

If they are proper bedbugs, I would get a specialist company in to deal with them. They can be horrifically difficult to get rid of. Dh and I lived in a country where they are unfortunately quite common. We got them from our downstairs neighbour (could actually see them climbing up the wall from the flat below, across the terrace and into our flat, horrific 🤢). We had to have a pest control company come in twice, completely bin all bedding and douse the mattresses in pesticides. It was awful. I would definitely see if you can figure out first if they are flees because they’ll be much easier to deal with.

Try the Indorex if it’s likely to be fleas, plus treating your dog at the same time. With the indorex, you need to move everything you can (furniture, rugs, etc), Hoover first, spray, let it dry, then hoover daily for a few weeks. It is amazing at getting rid of fleas.

For bed bugs, I’d be tempted to get a professional in.

Wallywobbles · 19/06/2021 20:50

Diatomaceous earth is your non toxic friend. Amazing stuff.

Wallywobbles · 19/06/2021 20:51

You can but it on the bead, the fog whatever. If the dog licks it off it'll shift internal parasites too.

Everydayiwakeupanditsmonday · 19/06/2021 21:05

For the dog , make sure you get the tablet flea treatment from the vet. It’s amazing and so much better than the spot ons.

Newnamenewme13 · 20/06/2021 10:44

Ok so it sounds more like fleas, I'll get onto the recommended treatments, thanks so much for the advice... Feel a bit better now that it's probably fleas (still ugh but not as bad as bedbugs!!)
Thank you to you all

Diatomaceous earth was the one thing that worked for me

NC276 · 21/06/2021 08:43

If it's fleas Indorex is amazing. Make sure you treat your dog too Smile. Also, you can get Smidge Insect Repellent on Amazon. Fleas only liked my son and that worked a treat at stopping him getting bitten.

If it's bedbugs I'd get a professional in as they're an absolutely bitch to get rid of.

Hi, this is my first time asking a question, I have bed bugs, we did try everything else but still see the odd ones out here and there, I purchased diatomaceous earth feed grade but don't know how to use it successfully, I have 9 months old baby and 4 years old at home too so I have to be careful. Any suggestion on where to put it and how to do it to get the full results will be appreciated.
Thanks
