Where to get "biometrics" done for going to Canada?

Can you do it at a post office? My partner has been offered a job over there but has now been asked for his biometrics? Anyone know what that means and how to get it?

Posting in chat because I'm not where to post it..

Canadian embassy/high commission should be able to help (assuming you're in the UK) www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/index.aspx?lang=eng

He needs to contact the Canadian embassy to find out. Sopra steria do them in the uk for uk visas so it might be that the contract for Canadian visas is with them.

Thanks guys that's very helpful. Apparently Post offices do them as well. He got the job offer three weeks ago, and was meant to start on the 14th. He filled in all the forms for his work permit (through company) and has been waiting for a response. There's been loads of delays no doubt thanks to Covid. Now all of a sudden he has to do this. Not sure when he'll start his job now!

Is this it?

Very exciting for you. Where in Canada will you be heading (if you don't mind me asking)?

@StillRunningWithScissors thanks for your help! It will be Montreal for 6/7 months. I won't be going though as I would be classed as non-essential travel but as soon as Canada opens up (fingers crossed) I'm planning a holiday! Grin
