Hi I am looking for recommendations please for a GPS trackerwatch for my 9 year old son. I have read so many reviews that say the GPS on many of the watches is not very reliable. Any good ideas please? Thanks

So many questions. Where is he going that you need to track him being the first.

Please don't get him one. It's really not a good idea to bring up the next generation to think that it's normal and acceptable to be tracked.

Ds was around 9 the school summer holidays he started being allowed further afield to call on and play with friends within our housing estate. We got him a cheap non-smart phone so we could call/text him to find out where he was for dinner etc or he could let us know where he was going or if he was having dinner at a friends.

Tracking wasnt an option 8 years ago, or not one I was aware of, and in hindsight I'm glad it wasn't. I understand where you are coming from op, I remember the feeling, it is a bit scarey giving them that little bit of independence when previously they have always been nearby an adult, but it is all part of them growing up. If you don't feel he is old enough to go out as far as you are considering without a tracker he probably isn't old enough to go out that far, a tracker will not provide any protection.

I don't think any GPS is that reliable. I use the iPhone app to look to see if my teenagers are at home after school when I'm at work but often it says they are two suburbs over where I presume there is a phone mast. Either that or they are leading double lives. Shock

About a quarter of the dc in my year two class have a fitbit as it became a bit of a trend. They are always losing them as the little strap bands break Or they aren't charged.

Why do you want to track your child? Genuine question.

I was asking for recommendations not opinions on what I have chosen to do for my family ! Thanks
