What do these blood tests mean?

I had some blood tests recently relating to a skin problem (and nurse said those relating to that were all clear) but that there were a few minor abnormalities relating to hormones and folate. She asked if I had been pregnant recently - I haven’t. The phoneline was quite bad and I’m meant to have an appointment with doctor next week to discuss but having trouble getting it booked in.

In the meantime to save me worrying, I know others have posted blood test results before & received some really helpful replies. I’ve attached a photo of the results - can anyone explain the abnormalities at all? Thank you!

Serum folate can be found in ppl with pregnancy disorders but it is also a sign of a type of anemia.

And then as it says the tsh level is slightly off but not terrible thats the thyroid stimulating hormone

Everything else is ok

GP may either repeat your folate test or start you on Folic Acid 5mg and retest in a few months.
High TSH may suggest hypothyroidism (underactive) but if you're not currently having symptoms then the test will simply be repeated in 12 months.

All your other bloods are normal which is good op.

Note in the UK we under treat thyroid issues and don't react until you get 'symptoms' but often it can impact on bone density, depression/anxiety and other things without realising the thyroid is the cause.

Please discuss the thyroid with the dr and make sure it's not brushed under the carpet
