Considering a counselling masters degree and career at 50

Hi everyone. My name is Andrea and I am 50 this year. I have spent my last 30 years in various careers (engineering, IT, product design) and finally decided after personal counselling experiences decided to pursue a career in counselling for 2 reasons...

a) I am genuinely interested in helping others through counselling the same way I have benefitted from it
b) Have a financially rewarding career capable of funding my lifestyle into my retirement

I have explored different avenues and found that a 2 year part-time MA degreee in counselling from Northampton university can give me the qualifications I need to get me started.

I am now seeking advice from people currently in counselling training, newly qualified counsellors and those with established counselling careers to understand if my ambitions are realistic, the opportunites available to realise my goals and recommendations on the most optimised route to my goal.

I welcome all suggestions and thank you all for your contributions. I am also able to follow up in a private chat should you prefer and you can leave me a message on how to contact you.
