Is it normal for PMS to get worse after having a baby?

Since I got my first period after having DD (2yo) I've been very angry and irritable in the days leading up to my period in a way which I wasn't before.

It's quite scary and I don't want to just accept it. It's a week of each month where I don't feel like myself. I have no motivation and seem to hate everyone.

Anyone else?

I don't want to use hormones to manage it so what are the alternatives?

I have a return to nursing practice (RTNP)interview tomorrow, after being away for many years. It is via a Microsoft team's meeting. Can anyone give advice on what to expect as I am incredibly nervous, and would appreciate some feedback.

I had my last child at 32 (3 dcs ) and I noticed a bit of up and down moods with breastfeeding with each one (bf all till 18 months) but think it could be age related as since I turned 36 my pms is way worse so possibly heading towards pre or peri-menopause. What age are you op?

Curious as to whether anyone has successfully treated this or if that’s it until
Menopause

Yes! I have been wondering if I have Pre Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder it's so bad, and I'm planning to go on some kind of contraception because of it.

My periods have also become very regular since having a baby; I have PCOS and I used to go for a long time without them.

I also had PCOS with irregular periods beforehand. Hmmm. Wonder if it’s a “thing”?

Mine was horrific after DD2. My period returned when DD2 was 4 months old despite her feeding ALL of the time. Now she is 2 it’s starting to get better. On reflection maybe I should have tried contraception to help but Covid and shielding was a barrier.

PP I get easily frustrated, touched out, exhausted - totally wiped out for 5 days or so.

Periods are a lot heavier but less painful thankfully.

Thanks for the tips I’m going to try some of those.

I had no idea until this thread that this was so common.
