Can I speed myself up??

I think I’m really slow at chores. If it’s not bad enough that I procrastinate, when I do get round to it, it takes me forever to cook, clean and tidy. Plus I seem to be really messy so there’s tonnes to do.
And I always feel groggy and lethargic, which can’t be normal?
I work (I get on fine at work though I do struggle with paperwork but it gets done. Seems to be a personal battle)
I do have energy to take dc out and do activities but then run out of steam.
I hate feeling like there’s always crap to deal with and my downtime isn’t actual downtime as I still have more to do.
Is anyone else like this?

Ask your GP for some blood tests. I was the same and low on b12

Are you groggy and lethargic all the time is just when it comes to chores???

I would set yourself a time limit and also rope in any other adults/old enough children to help

I am often groggy and lethargic. I manage to get through the day and I don’t think I come across like that to others, but I always wake up groggy, dragging myself out of bed and I’m wiped out by early evening.

Get your bloods done, you might be anaemic or have a vitamin deficiency.

But on the chores front, you just need to get on with it, I don’t think there’s a secret. It’s a choice to be messy or to put things away once you’ve used them. DH is the most efficient person I’ve ever met, he’s like a tidying cleaning whirlwind. I’ve got much speedier since we’ve been together, maybe from watching him. Do a job or an area at a time, don’t get distracted along the way. And part of efficiency is just that it’s nice when it’s done! If you value relaxation and being in clean tidy surroundings then it pays to get on with what needs doing as swiftly and effectively as you can.

Try a Berocca style multivitamin. They always perk me up!

Cut out refined sugar from your diet. It really makes you sluggish.

ADHD potentially?

Well - you’d have to consider things like, do you drink alcohol regularly (even a glass a night messes with your sleep, like it or not), do you get enough regular exercise, do you drink plenty of water?

The biggest game changer for me was dropping alcohol.

I don’t drink at all but may have a bit too much sugar. I crave it to reenergise me.
Adhd is interesting as I’ve noticed a bit more about that and do wonder.
