How do the likes of Stacey Solomon and Mrs Hinckley do it?!

Toddlers and small children.

Immaculate, calm houses.

How?! My house is a fucking riot!

It isn’t real. They are doing it for the ‘gram’. Hmm

Well said @Grenlei.

I had surgery in a private hospital recently and was asked to take the bare minimum in with me due to the current infection risk. Had I have turned up with a fake plant it wouldn’t have been accepted.

The poor nurses on that children’s ward must’ve been torn between a rock and a hard place. She thanked the NHS in one post, so when other parents turn up now with half their kid’s bedroom and want to drink hot drinks on the beds because Stacey did, what are the staff going to do? As for the advert she did from the ward, just how low can you go?

FierceBarrie · 16/06/2021 09:38

Wow, just taken a look.

Twee does not even begin to cover it.

I have a friend whose house is always immaculate, she has 4 children but I hate going to her house - you are hardly allowed to breathe. Both myself and my DC are scared of spilling anything so often refuse drinks and snacks. My friend is always cleaning, washing or shampooing carpets (they have a dog), it looks exhausting. She also doesn't spend much time with her DC reading, playing etc as she is so busy cleaning and cooking. The DC watch a lot of Disney product.

Bibidy · 16/06/2021 10:08

In fairness, I had many friends as a child with immaculate houses, mostly where there was a SAHM, which both Stacey and Mrs Hinch basically are.

Mrs Hinch's entire brand is built on cleaning, and tbh she seems like she has anxiety issues so I can imagine she's someone who needs to clean to keep busy and have a calm environment.

Plus Stacey only has Rex living there full time, the older 2 spend time with their dads as well, and they're at school so much more time to clean up after them. I'm sure she probably does have a cleaner too as she is more into the DIY/decorating side than cleaning.

I did LOL at her taking that plant to hospital though. Cringe.

Sleepyquest · 16/06/2021 10:14

Bizarre Stacey used the time her son was in hospital to still advertise things... would you really want that life?

'Here is the mug I brought into hospital, you can buy it from Tesco' how low can you go when there's children in the next rooms who are really poorly

Anyway off on a tangent

I think my house is pretty clean and tidy and I have 5 DC aged between 10 months and 11. I clean as I go so it doesn’t build up and I do laundry pretty much constantly so that also doesn’t build up. I don’t have a cleaner, nanny etc.

Stacey has 2 primary aged DC so they will be at school all day and she has a 2 year old who may go to nursery or at least will probably nap for a bit. Mrs Hinch has a baby and toddler, I do too and it’s not that difficult to stay on top of things with them around tbh. They may have assistance but I don’t and I manage it, the key really is to clean up straight away.

merrygoround88 · 16/06/2021 10:18

I really don’t get this cleaning fetish trend

FierceBarrie · 16/06/2021 10:45

With all due respect, it’s just a bit of a silly question.

We all know full well how they do it. They’re social media influencers. It’s their job to post aspirational stuff on Instagram.

It’s not real life.

PattyPan · 16/06/2021 11:18

I got the impression that SS took the plant etc to the hospital as a sort of comfort blanket for herself because she was worried about her DS and obviously couldn’t do anything to fix it so was trying to do what she could. I’m sure all parents understand that feeling of helplessness when your kid is sick. As a PP said Mrs Hinch has anxiety and cleaning gives her a feeling of control too.
Off topic but I didn’t really understand what happened to Rex though - since when have you had to stay overnight for stitches? DP recently needed his face stitched up and was there for all of about 2 hours including waiting as we’d called 111 first.

Their lives are fake.

Not sure what actually happened but I think he had to have general anaesthetic, maybe because of his age and ability to sit still and let them do it?

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 16/06/2021 14:17

My son had to have this done under general anaesthetic, it’s because they don’t keep still especially if the cut/injury is across the lip line it’s trickier to stitch.

Instagram is a job/performance. If I was getting paid for photos of my beautiful clean house then I’d put the effort in to making it clean & beautiful Grin
