We're getting estimates for a stair lift as I struggle with the stairs now. I adjusted to the wheelchair and am coping with the pain but this feels like the beginning of the end.

Spied · 15/06/2021 11:13

@MindyStClaire

Grin I felt the same.
Like what the hell has happened to me- who is this harassed looking woman with a double buggy?

Londono · 15/06/2021 11:15

A bin shed. Why on earth am I having to spend my hard earned money on that?

LittleRa · 15/06/2021 11:15

A 10 foot trampoline 🙄

romdowa · 15/06/2021 11:16

Anything baby related. I never ever thought I'd be so lucky to meet someone and start a family 😊

ACPC · 15/06/2021 11:19

No DD of mine will be plastered in fake tan and false eyelashes she said as she added both things for DD into her online basket at BootsHmm

Raindropsonrosesand · 16/06/2021 16:44

Anything baby related I was the same to start off with. I felt like such an imposter in the baby department of John Lewis - despite being pregnant - that I would slope in furtively, grab something and run to a different till Grin

I just couldn't imagine that I could ever be a mum!

Eight years later, I'm pretty confident doing anything child-related. But when I stop to think about it, I still can't believe that I get to be DD's mum SmileSmile

Currently shopping for window blinds and new paving for outside

lachy · 16/06/2021 16:48

@SprayedWithDettol

Crocs. I recently bought a white pair (never to be worn away from home) but I like them, especially gardening. (Oh the shame)
Mine are bright pink. I vowed I would never ever wear them, but they are so handy for popping in and out of the house and around the garden.
BonnyEm · 16/06/2021 17:00

Size 18-20 clothing 😔

Wiglio · 16/06/2021 17:14

@Ratonastick bra extenders, lockdown hasn’t been kind here either

missymoomoomoomoomoo · 16/06/2021 17:16

A composter. But I bloody love that composter

Purplecatshopaholic · 16/06/2021 17:19

A wardrobe for my dog’s clothes….. ok it’s a large box for his coats etc but defo not something I planned

Kpo58 · 16/06/2021 17:21

A bungalow. I wanted a house. I don't like sleeping on the ground floor, but the houses nearby were more expensive and smaller with tiny gardens.

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 16/06/2021 17:22

A couple more aids today!

A grabber stick
handle bars for top/bottom of stairs
Inflatable sink.

They are indeed.

I've actually been wearing them (at home) for years due to arthritis, but they do some pretty stylish ones too.

I have the red ones and DD has the riptape ones

I’m glad I’m not the only croc wearer! 🤫

Crayfishforyou · 16/06/2021 17:52

Tena lady
Thank you 9lb compound presented back to back dd Hmm

Also fake tan. I’m so white I glow in the dark. I used to look all celtic, elfin and beautiful. Now I just look haggard and ill.

Kenworthington · 16/06/2021 17:55

Hotter shoes. Yes really. Loafer style. For work. Like walking on clouds of fluffy air

A pull along shopping trolley- it’s camo and neon in an effort to make it cooler. It’s not. But it is very useful. Kids won’t walk with me with it.

Several pairs of crocs. Inc my going out crocs. With gems on. I love a fugly comfy shoe me 🤣

Izitso · 16/06/2021 18:15

omdowa and Raindropsonrosesand - your posts made me smile - so pleased for you both! It really is a wonderful feeling and I wish it for all those who dream of it.

Have you thought of a home lift instead? They are dearer, but a total blessing. We couldn't have a stair lift for my DH, as he suffers from seizures; and the thought of him falling off halfway up was horrifying. So we got a home lift installed by Stiltz instead (Stannah do them as well) It goes from his bedroom into the dining room below, and only took 3 days to install. If you have a large hallway, they can be fitted from the ground floor to the landing. You can actually get ones that will take a wheelchair.
FiveGs · 16/06/2021 18:47

@SymphonyofShadows

Sorry about your ankle Flowers

I had a hostess trolley for while. A proper 1970’s one, I never imagined that. It was inherited and quite good but I only used it at Christmas so I got rid. Kept the Pyrex dishes though.

I'm actively seeking a hostess trolley, what might that say about me Confused Grin

Tena ladies, I picked up a pack in the supermarket of what I thought were discreet pads but they were the wrong ones and they are like a mattress down my pants !!
