What can I put on my mattress??

I have a fairly new mattress, about 6 months old, from Amazon - my old one was saggy as anything and my back was in bits from it. This one is solid as a rock and I love it BUT it's tufted and the dips where the tufts are are huge and I always end up in one in the night so my back is starting to hurt again! I don't really want a mattress topper if I can help it as the mattress is already really thick so I don't want to add to the height. Is there such a thing as a firm mattress protector so it makes the surface more flat??

I use a duvet on mine and bought an extra deep fitted sheet

I had a mattress topper that was only about an inch thick then an extra deep fitted sheet , didn't make it higher than normal but very comfortable

Thanks, I did think of using my winter duvet under a fitted sheet but wondered if it would work. Worth a try before I splash out on anything I suppose!

Slumberdown do an orthopedic mattress protector. Had one for years, helps immensely.

Mattress protector? I have one from John Lewis that is lightly padded and only about a centimetre thick.

Will a mattress protector 'fill the gaps' so to speak? I need something to either fill in the dips or lay over them so the surface of the mattress is flat. Gonna try the spare duvet under the fitted sheet tonight I think.

Be warned it will flatten your duvet so it might not be reusable as a duvet after a while. If it works buy a cheapy one from supermaket instead of your good one.
