Sun cream for kids with eczema?

What do you use? DDs skin always flares up in summer but hard to tell if it’s from the heat itself/sweat etc or the sun cream. I use child’s farm at the moment and she’s always well covered with a wide brimmed hat, loose cotton clothing and I keep her in the shade as much as possible plus have some indoor days when it’s very hot. Her skin is already starting to itch though.

I'm the same and have just discovered Ultrasun.

Have always used Green People organic for mine - the only one that has ever not irritated them.

I have severe eczema (bad enough to require immunosuppressant meds) and my consultant recommended Altruist (from Amazon, cheaper than many of the other sensitive or organic brands and some of the profits go to good causes).
Its the best I've used, doesn't make my skin sting, itch or cause breakouts. Its moisturising and sinks in without being claggy.

Previously I'd tried Eucerin, Childs Farm, La Roche Posay (awful reaction to that one in particular) and some organic brands from Holland & Barret - all without much success.

Moo Goo. It's not cheap but is the only one that doesn't irritate DS.
Although I have just discovered it does have a shelf life as last year's tube has separated into liquid and solid! Its a fairly thick cream which you warm in your hands for a minute before applying.

If ds's skin is really bad with eczema then the only thing that works without further irritation is Ladival (its a bloody ridiculous price!) Otherwise we use Ultrasun which works really well. We've found the only Childs Farm product that works for ds is the after swim one, everything else including the suncream massively irritates him!

Sunsense sensitive is the only one doesn’t irritate my son’s eczema.

La Roche posay is excellent for DS who has bad eczema. Child’s farm makes it worse due to grape oil.

Our GP prescribed sun sense to us for our daughter

Mine all use Altruist which was designed by a UK dermatologist who is a skin cancer specialist. 10p also goes to a charity to support people with albinism in Africa. £8 for 2 100ml bottles. It is the only one I have found so far that they don't complain about their skin and eyes stinging.

The only one which doesn't upset DS's skin is Banana Boat spray on Factor 50 (marketed as a baby one). Cheap as chips too which is a bonus after years of working our way through all of the hypoallergenic, 'eczema- friendly' expensive options

readingismycardio · 14/06/2021 09:58

I just discovered Evy. I don't have eczema myself but it says that it's great for eczema! I use the 50, but they also have 30
