Took DS age 6 to the dentist today as we were shocked to discover one of his back molars was wobbly (no decay or knocks). After googling we found they shouldn't come out until around age 10 to 12. The dentist was very surprised, took an xray and confirmed it's due to his adult teeth coming down and pushing out. She told me the same tooth on the opposite side is also loose, and you could see the neighbouring teeth aren't far behind. She said she'd never seen it in a child so young. We have to go back in 4 weeks and in the meantime she's going to speak to a specialist and see if he should be referred.
Having looked up online, it seems in some cases it can be an issue on a child so young due to overcrowding and causing issues with jaw disfigurement.
Has anyone experienced this with their child? If so, what was the outcome? Any issues etc?
