Do you still enjoy theme parks?

Took the kids to a theme park yesterday (still half term for us) and I was initially excited to go as I used to love them when I was younger, however I'm now over 40 and gained quite a bit of weight since last time I went to a theme park.

I felt wedged in seats, both ways, most seats seem to have a dividing bit in-between so I could just about get in, but then being jostled about and having to hug DD so she wasn't scared and not being able to hold the handlebars, I'm surprised I'm not covered in bruises today. Shock

I think even when I loose the weight, I don't think I would ever enjoy them as much as I used to, same with waterparks......

Nope - the queues are not worth it.

I’ve never really liked them, as a child they made me very anxious for some reason. It wasn’t the rides but something about the atmosphere. I pretended to like it but always felt panicky. Same as fairs.
Not long before Covid we had a walk around a local fair and I got the same panic feeling. It’s really odd!
I did like Disney though and don’t remember that being panicky.

I don’t think I’d enjoy the rides now either though to be honest. I’m going to be a huge disappointment to DD Blush

I love traditional wooden roller coasters...the type that have a brakeman on the ride controlling the speed. The old Battersea funfair Big Dipper was tremendous fun, until the thing malfunctiend, crashed after rolling backwards, and caused the death of five children and very seriously injuring 13 others.

We went to Alton Towers recently and have decided that we’re finally past it 😂 We’re 39 and 42 and used to love them. Neither of us can be bothered with all the queuing and would prefer a nice day out at the National Trust or a pub lunch either just us or with friends.
