Period knicker recommendations since modibodi fucked up with their marketing?

I was so close to buying some modibodi period knickers but after seeing the headlines and a post on here I want to use another brand. But which one?

I’ve looked on their website (modi bodi) and you choose for women, teen or men? Where is the wording that people don’t like?

MogHog · 11/06/2021 16:23

The primark ones are £6 a pair and I think they are great. Admittedly on my heavier days I did combine them with a reusable pad as I'm so very heavy I don't really trust anything. They are very comfy and a lot thinner than the sainsburys ones id previously bought. They do a couple of different styles and have light-mid flow and a mid-heavy flow pairs.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 11/06/2021 16:27

The primark cotton 3 pack has one for night/heavier flow and 2 for lighter daytime use.
It's not quite enough for perimenopausal heavy days for me, so I've bought some zorb fabric and am going to have a go at making some with more layers.
In the meantime I've ordered some from etsy.
They're £25 but will have moomins on. I would probably pay £25 for a tote bag if it had moomins on.
Etsy seems to have some iffy non-handmade ones too but I'm excited about these.

It was in some marketing blurb where they said "people who menstruate use X amount of tampons".

The original thread has been deleted. I suspect this one might go the same way if they complain about it as well.

I haven't been on their site today, I won't now, no footfall from me. There was wording of "people who menstruate".

I am a woman and if a company cannot acknowledge that then I wont buy from them

If they had said "women and trans men" I wouldn't have mind.

It doesn't make any sense why they did it given the language used elsewhere on their website though.

Everyday21 · 11/06/2021 16:32

Thank you everyone for the recommendations. I've just ordered from wuka, will also look in primark next time I am in the city

I hope this thread doesn't get deleted, it wasn't meant to be about the drama, just recommendations

@sometimescharlottesometimesnot

wuka on their website. state for women , girls and trans men....
Oooh I shall have a look.

This is how things should be worded. Completely inclusive

MichelleScarn · 11/06/2021 16:35

This ad popped up to me recently... menstruating humans, I don't actually know what to think.

MrsWooster · 11/06/2021 16:37

There was a particularly horrible aspect where they referred to ‘people who menstruate’ in the advert but any hopeful transmen who went to the site and looked in the men’s section for their period pants found... nada. The period pants are in the women’s section. Virtue signalling without even the virtue of helping the incredibly few transmen whose dysphoria might be eased by such biology denial.

MoonCatcher · 11/06/2021 16:45

Why was the original thread taken down? It reached 1000 posts and then got deleted with the message that MNHQ need to talk to the OP. Odd.

sometimescharlottesometimesnot · 11/06/2021 16:51

wuka also do nhs discount

Adirondack · 11/06/2021 16:56

I was going to buy some modibodi but refuse to now they’ve gone all ‘people who menstruate’. The word they need is ‘women’.

Emmelina · 11/06/2021 16:59

Primark are supposed to be good, I haven’t tried them yet. Check out Amazon too.
It’s a shame ModiBodi are tits really as they have a great size range for young girls/teens! Hopefully someone more sensible will fill that gap.

Saisong · 11/06/2021 17:01

I'm in the market for some for teen DD. Will avoid Modi Bodi (have even had to reject their endless FB ads). Will look at Cheeky Wipes and maybe Primark.

Tidypidy · 11/06/2021 17:10

DD and I love the cheeky pants and pads. My periods are fairly heavy so I use a pad as well as pants until bed then just pants overnight. DD likes the ones with cheeky written on them, I prefer the high leg sporty ones. They often have offers and also do packs of different products which work out cheaper.

MoonCatcher · 11/06/2021 18:11

The Eco-femme products on the Boobalou website refer to women, and donate to girls' charities.

PandasCatsWolves · 11/06/2021 18:23

Clue are at the same crap. Had email with this banner today

It's put me right off. They've also removed the fertile window flags. Bet it's for the same bloody reason.

ChocAuVin · 11/06/2021 18:26

At work recently we had an email that referred to ‘women, girls, and other people who have periods’ = hardly rocket science, but I was SO relieved!

ChocAuVin · 11/06/2021 18:29

By way of a recommendation, Innersy from Amazon are good. Pack of 3 for DD still going strong after ages.

Lonel · 11/06/2021 18:33

Really disappointing. I already have some Modibodi ones and wanted to buy some more but will look elsewhere now.

This. For fuck’s sake, marketers - this is what inclusion actually looks like. Take note.
StacysMomMandyJessiesEx · 11/06/2021 22:55

won't be buying ModiBodi after all this...wtf??

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 11/06/2021 22:59

I went through the WUKA site when I ordered them and they seemed to be sound.
