I really like Jarvis and Clarissa, but they sound ridiculous with our surname so they regrettably had to be set aside 😶

I like Meadow for a girl which, although there are some out there, is not very common. Also really like Nelly (or Nellie) which would be acceptable but not very common these days!
I also came across two book characters, Levin (boy) and Winter (girl) which I like.

This is purely from my current experience. Those names that are trying to be uncommon ended up having at least 2 or 3 others in their class.

Those that went for traditional 'boring' names tended to be the only ones in their class.

For my 2, my son has a boring traditional name that I've only heard once or twice in the playgroup. Neither of those used the same nick name as him.

My daughter is one of only 19 with that name born in 2019. I've already met at least 4 others

I saw Portia suggested on here recently and think it's a lovely name. I've never met one!

ComtesseDeSpair · 10/06/2021 21:16

For boys I really like Lennox, Tydus and Cohen. For girls, Aviva, Marisol and Vashti.

But who knows - I don’t have DC or know many people who do, so for all I know all of these might be ten a penny! I was very surprised when my cousin told me that her DD, Daphne, was one of four Daphnes in her year at school, because I thought Daphne was really pretty unusual.

This is just the boys names by year, if you go into table 6 it shows you how many children in that particular year were given that name.

Aquamarine1029 · 10/06/2021 22:06

Farrah for a girl.

Blaise for a boy.

InnaBun · 10/06/2021 22:07

I've seen Mason and Stefan suggested recently on here and like them.

Worriesome · 10/06/2021 22:08

I like Pandora but don’t think it’s unusual is it x

17caterpillars1mouse · 11/06/2021 07:28

@worrisome It's 1439th on the charts so yes, pretty uncommon, 21 born in 2019. Guess it depends on your definition of uncommon?
