Primark baby swimwear

Hi all,
I am going to see my family in the south of france next month and my baby will be 4 months old. I was planning on bringing him with me for a very short period of time in my brother's pool but want to make sure I don't take any risk. I bought the primark swimwear set which is an overall which covers his body up to his elbow and knees as well as the hat which goes down to the neck but I am now worried it is not UV proof. Has anyone used them?
Thank you for your help and any advice regarding the pool will be helpful

Those kind of swim / sun suits usually say on the label / tag if they are UV protective.

I would be surprised if it wasn’t but even if not it wouldn’t stop me using it.
Regardless I’d still put suncream on him all over first and out of the direct sun between 11am-2pm.

He’ll love the pool though, is it heated? If not he’ll probably only be happy for 20mins a time.

I would avoid any kind of swim ring because not only do they keep them out of the water so can more easily get cold / burn but they are also a drowning risk if they tip over.

Thank you, I have a non scented baby suncream too. The pool is not heated so I was thinking 10/15 minutes and keeping him in my arms

That will be perfect. If you haven’t already got one, I’d recommend a reusable swim nappy such as Bambino Mio (Amazon, Aldi, Asda).
It’ll save you having to pack a load of swim specific disposable nappies, you can just whip it off him. Rince out, Put it in the sun to dry and then wash it in the washing machine with your towels.

Also a little hooded towel poncho. Doesn’t matter if it’s one for toddlers. You can wrap him up in it. Put a nappy on him and let him nap in the towel in the shade if he’s tired out

Or if you do use disposables. You can reuse them. They only catch the solids. The liquids go through a swim nappy. So if it’s still clean you can dry it and reuse. They are different and more expensive than usual swim nappies.

What I would say is you ideally want a neoprene swimming nappy. Most swim schools will recommend double nappy. When mine were young it saved me many times from poo in the pool.

I bought the huggies swimming nappies, I will ask my brother if he is ready to risk his pool or if I should put both😄. Thank you for your help
