Has anyone tried Primark period pants?

Going into town tomorrow and thought I might buy some of these for my DDs. Just £6 per pair.
Has anyone tried them yet? If so, are they any good?

I posted a thread with a detailed review here:

In short, I wouldn’t bother.

BettyUnderswoob · 09/06/2021 16:29

Ah, thanks Fiona

I guess you get what you pay for... but then again it may be worth getting one or two for light days.

I'll maybe try the Sainsbury's ones, too.

I’d recommend modibod. I’ve got the sainsbury ones and they aren’t very good. The material feels wet after a short time whereas with modibod I can forget I’m having my period they are so comfortable.

I looked at the primark ones but I could tell from the feel of them that they wouldn’t be up to much.

DixiePeach · 09/06/2021 16:38

Just seen MrsFionaCharming used love Luna from sainsbury the brand I tried were Wuka.

bobby81 · 09/06/2021 17:09

I’ve tried a few different brands. M & S ones are good & reasonably priced.

BettyUnderswoob · 09/06/2021 18:32

Thanks, everyone, for the recommendations. I may buy one or two, but I was hoping to try something fairly cheap in case DDs don't like them.
DD15 is autistic and fussy about things, though she does find washable sanitary towels comfortable; DD12 hasn't started periods yet, but is likely imminent!

My ASD teen has Cheeky Wipes ones, they were the most affordable very reputable brand I could find. Cheeky Wipes have a good reputation with reuseables, whereas Primark I would be wary of as everything is made cheaply.

BettyUnderswoob · 09/06/2021 20:27

Thanks @user64325 I’ll take a look.
I think the “cheeky” branding will appeal to DD15, it sounds young and fun.

And It’s nice that DD12 will be able to embark on menstrual life without having to use disposable products at all!

I use them for the really light day or two at the end of my period when I don't want to wear a mooncup but can't get away with nothing. Perfect for that.

Shieldingending · 09/06/2021 20:34

My DD has tried a few brands, modibodi are by far the best. Cheeky wipes came 2nd and the Sainsbury's ones weren't very good. I looked at the primark ones and felt they were very thin and not absorbent.

CrazylazyJane · 09/06/2021 21:22

Have you looked at Flowerette

floweretcup.com/collections/period-underwear

I got some from Cheeky Wipes. They're nice but have to be washed at 30. DP has ruined 2 pairs by washing them too hot. My Floweret ones were £6, feel great on and can be washed at 40. Just sitting in a pair now and thinking of investing in some more.

JustACosmicGirl · 09/06/2021 21:59

I got some to try (the pack of 3 and a few single ones) and I'm wearing a pair. Unfortunately I can't give a review as the period I've been waiting for for days is MIA. I can say they are comfortable to wear tho

Tumbleweed101 · 09/06/2021 22:09

I haven't tried the primark ones but did get the heaviest flow ones of Modibodi and tested them overnight on my heaviest night and they didn't leak. Was pretty impressed as I'm quite heavy these days and often need a pad change overnight. They did feel damp by morning and I did need to jump into the shower to clean up but my bedding and nightwear was clean. I'd trust them during the day on lighter days. I'm very new to using these products so building up my confidence with them.

BettyUnderswoob · 10/06/2021 00:04

Thank you all. I like the price of the flowerette ones... I may even get a couple for myself. I wasn't going to bother as I'm 52, and every period could be my last... but they just keep coming, and are so heavy. Overnight is a nightmare.

I have the Flowerette ones and also M&S heavy flow ones. The M&S ones are amazing. Mine are really heavy and I can wear them overnight with no leaks. During the daytime, I normally change to another pair in the afternoon but that’s more for my own comfort. The Flowerette ones are good for lighter days.
