Kids shoes. Mainly the school ones at £50+ a pair

Back in the late-70s/early-80s my school shoes were getting on for that then (I've got big feet and was already in adult size 8s by the time I was about 10), so 'school-suitable' shoes were a nightmare to find and in the region of £35‐£40.

Space to keep things that "might be useful later" but in fairness the price per sq foot of housing has not just gone up, but the price relative to wages has changed so much. So keeping things was actually frugal for my parents and grandparents. Throwing stuff away ( or recycling, redistributing etc) is actually more frugal now, which is really sad and horrible for the environment.

Rugs!
Believe me, been there! I mean, you can find cheaper rugs from places like Dunelm but, generally, the quality isn't that great! If you know where to look though, you can find high-quality rugs without spending a massive amount:

Full Disclosure:

I do actually work for Land of Rugs, so it is natural for me to recommend them. However, I do actually have the Twilight rug: www.landofrugs.com/rugs/twilight-6926-white.html in my living room at the moment, and it's incredible! Soft without being too soft, and definitely durable as well.

I have the 80 x 150cm size, which retails for less than £70.00. We are running a 10% discount sitewide at present, so you can save a little more as well if you are interested.

Funerals
Anything to do with weddings
Nursery school places
Children’s shoes (especially when your child is an adult 11G)
Stupid school uniform that has the logo embroidered on everything. In my day, you bought a school badge that ironed on to your blazer pocket
Cinema tickets
Silver foil!

Decent towels, pans and leather children's shoes. Also good coffee!
