Nearly 12months into a job- too soon to leave?

I left a fairly senior role in a good company as there was no progression and pay was much lower than industry standards.

In feb/march 2020 i applied for my current role. Due to covid and my notice period etc the process was long and i eventually started a new job in sept 2020.

The job feels like a step back and im doing what the people i used to manage in my old place do but for more money and I am bored.
My team achieve their targets easily and there isnt really any scope to be involved in projects external to my team. I have been told clearly my project is ensuring this team achieve and maintain targets.

Im bored. I feel like i sold myself short not applying for roles more senior and if anything i feel like i took a step back for slightly more money

Is 12months too short a time to be considering moving on? I have a 3 month notice period so hence why stating 12months in current role as would be as a min before i left

Thanks

Absolutely not. And it may take you a while to find a job that's just right for you anyway. There's no harm in looking and applying if something seems like a better fit for you. Better than waiting until you're miserable.

I'm looking and I only started 3.5 months ago. I am bored senseless but after being made redundant I just needed a job, so took this one. I know it will be a bit if a blip on the cv but as long as new job is a good fit and I stay a couple of years I think I can rude it out. Go for it, I have learnt the hard way that companies will get rid of you quick enough so don't be loyal to them.
