Fast money making ideas asap

Hi, not sure what thread to put this in, looking for some advice please if anyone knows any fast ways of making money? I am short this month & need to try make some money.

I have been doing online surveys but they take forever to even make £1.

eBay is saying I can only sell stuff up to £10? Not sure if this is a new thing as have sold on eBay in the past.

Don't have much other things to sell on social media etc.

Do not want to get any payday loans etc if avoidable.

Has anyone made money fast and legally before?

Thanks

Try vinted app maybe of you have clothes to sell?

How much are you shirt? Can you reduce outgoings? Cancel and subscriptions like amazon, TV, gym etc to wave this month?

But none of this is a long term solution, what happens if you fall short next month?

RedSoloCup · 07/06/2021 22:21

Get a pub job ?

Youaremysunshine09 · 07/06/2021 22:33

Thank you I will have a look at Vinted I haven't heard of this before so really helpful thanks.

I am short about £150 this month only because I had an emergency, usually am ok with money etc.

All bills have already been paid so it's literally just money for fuel and bread milk etc for 2 weeks to get me through.

Thanks for the tips everyone, off to have a look now Smile

Have you registered with any market research companies? I always think they’re good for a bit of extra cash, although it’s not instant.

Do you have any old DVD’s / Blu rays you don’t want?

I had a clear out one day, took loads of them
to CEX and the have me £70 for them!!

UhtredRagnarson · 07/06/2021 23:34

Can you get any extra hours at work?

Set yourself up as a cleaner, you’ll have work straight away and paid at the end of each job so no waiting a month for first pay.

GooodMythicalMorning · 07/06/2021 23:40

If you have fb you can sell on fb marketplace.

Youaremysunshine09 · 07/06/2021 23:44

Thank you all.

Don't have any dvds, actually don't think I own even 1 or a cd but that would have been handy months ago before I donated them to local charity shop.

Have looked into setting up my own cleaning business but ideally would need insurance, which right now I'm not in the position to buy, but great idea thanks.

Will check out market research just now as would be good although it's not instant cash would be good to put a bit of money away.

Thanks everyone will keep looking at these ideas and see what I can come up with

Do you work? Can you do overtime or extra shifts? If you will get money next month, could you borrow some or all from family to get you through this month? Sell old clothes, shoes, toys? Offer to dog walk, mow lawns, weed gardens?

What skills do you have?

Grellbunt · 07/06/2021 23:50

Gumtree

Lawn mowing

Car washing

I would definitely go for Facebook marketplace if you can. I would say that's the quickest, easiest way to make some quick cash. Do you have anything you could sell on there? Any sort of outdoor, garden things would do well at the moment or children's garden toys. I had a scruffy, old metal bucket that went for £10 on there recently so it can be unexpected stuff.

I would look into that £10 thing with ebay. I sell a lot on ebay and have never seen that. Might be worth giving them a call.

As for other ideas...

  • Boot sale.
  • Maybe offer a service on Facebook like gardening, babysitting, taxi service, dog walking, cat sitting.
  • Depending where you live, fruit picking. It's the time of year.
  • Participating in paid research and I don't mean surveys as they take forever to get any money.
  • Do you know anyone you could do a days work for cash in hand?
  • Some banks award you with £100 if you can get someone else to join them.

Selling outgrown kids clothes? I made £30 today after posting the stuff up online this morning on local selling pages. Selling items a pound or two each.

Jim1980Bob · 08/06/2021 00:09

Same with outgrown kids toys?

Slimmingstar · 08/06/2021 00:09

Car washing is a ridiculous suggestion if the OP is over 12 years old. Just think how that would work.....,,

callmemaybee · 08/06/2021 00:12

Are you on universal credit? ask for an advance if so

Womendohavevaginasnick · 08/06/2021 00:13

Look for free stuff on gumtree and Facebook, clean/fix it and sell it. I'd avoid bikes though. They're always getting stolen around here.

callmemaybee · 08/06/2021 00:13

Also being short £150 isn’t too bad if all your bills are paid. I was going to say contact your billing companies to see if they can help you at all, but your bills are already paid so perhaps they could only set something up with your next payment

NannyAndJohn · 08/06/2021 00:16

Matched betting/casino is an easy £500 a month for about an hour's work a day.

Akire · 08/06/2021 00:19

Can you post on social media to friends that you looking make some cash and happy to take ironing or help de clutter or walk the dog or babysit. If you have a car that’s helpful to many people who may need to do down runs to charity shops or to the dump which are impossible without a car. Does take some balls to put yourself out there but some people rather buy someone they know for handful of jobs who is reliable than a stranger.

mathswall · 08/06/2021 00:20

Second matched betting. Easy money once you get the hang of it

Cheesypea · 08/06/2021 00:24

Check if you have any credit built up on your gas and electric bills and ask for a rebate?
There are tons of hospitality jobs going near me atm.

Last time I looked the men who valeted my car were over 12
BarbaraofSeville · 08/06/2021 09:07

Unlikely to help in the short term but if you're normally OK for money and are sufficiently disciplined to use it as a payment tool not free money, you need a credit card. Then you just pay for whatever it is on the card, and you get a few weeks to pay it off, without incurring interest.

You can also usually get a free £100 for changing your bank account, but it might take a few weeks to come through.

Look on Moneysavingexpert for both. If you get the weekly email, you get loads of ongoing tips on making extra money and saving money on what you buy, which tips the balance in favour of you having extra disposable income, which makes things easier all round.

BertieBotts · 08/06/2021 09:08

Agree with Vinted. Look up the postage costs and buy a load of cheap postage bags on amazon. List stuff for a bit less than other people have it up for and it will go fast. Organise everything into sizes first and upload in batches. The best thing is if it doesn't sell there are no fees.

Grellbunt · 08/06/2021 09:25

Our local community council is offering fopd parcels for those affected by the pandemic. In confidence. The council also has one off grant payments of a few hundred again bc of corona. Might be worth checking out. Or ask at the Citizens Advice.
