Money and redecorating

I have a list of things I want to update in my house.. money is tight so I’m wondering if I should save and do all the bits in one room or piece by piece.
Fo example my bedroom I need to:
Re paper one wall (it is lilac butterflies left from when my daughter was in this room before swapping). (£30-£40)
New light shade (£10)
Buy and hang a mirror (£20-£30)
New chest of drawers replace an old one that doesn’t match the existing furniture and also some of the drawers are nearly broken. (£120)

Living room
New carpet, existing one is 9 years old and just permanently looks grubby, carpet plus underlay is with free fitting (offer on at the moment) is £235
Small cabinet from IKEA (£30)
Lamp (£20-£25)
Some small decorative items like nice vase and artificial flowers, cushions- not essential but nice.
Kitchen
New Lino floor ((£120)
New sink (£60-70)
New worktops (£130-£150) not including the price to have the work done.

I can only spare £120-£150 a month from my income would you do the smaller items first or save for the bigger costs first or maybe save for a room at a time?

Definitely one room at a time, starting with the biggest messiest jobs. You'll feel better knowing you have one room completely done rather knowing you still have lots of things to finish off.

I'd put that money aside for the soft furnishings and wait until the items are on offer. Most things will eventually go on sale at some point.
