I seem to spend a lot of my time swearing to myself in my head. A lot of frustration at having 2 DCs 6 and 4 who fight a lot at the moment. Or constantly ask me questions particularly when I am driving. At least I am not shouting and swearing at them.

Please tell me it’s normal and I am not the only one?

normal

It does get better!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 06/06/2021 17:04

I have a 2 and a 4 year old. I swear a LOT in my head! At least it’s on the inside and not out loud Grin

TheVanguardSix · 06/06/2021 17:07

Oh of course. Except now that the kids are older, I do it with the dog and cats (it starts with the Feed Me chorus at 6am and goes downhill from there). Grin

ApolloandDaphne · 06/06/2021 17:12

Out loud 'my goodness what is going on here?'

Inside head 'fuck me, what now?

WithRosesAroundTheDoor · 06/06/2021 17:27

I must whisper ffs at least 72 times daily.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 06/06/2021 17:46

RosieLeaLovesTea · 06/06/2021 17:46

does it???🤣 when? my 4 oldest are teenagers. I definitely swear more now then when they were little
imaginethemdragons · 06/06/2021 17:52

It’s a river of filth gushing through my head.

Plus, I can confess to flicking the “Vs” from the kitchen at them.

Like, a lot. A LOT.

imaginethemdragons · 06/06/2021 17:53

Generally take it out on inanimate objects.
For example, the tin opener got called a bastard this morning because it threw itself out of the dishwasher dramatically.

While eating breakfast asking what’s for tea is fucking annoying DD.
So, the tin opener got it.

FindingMeno · 06/06/2021 17:55

@imaginethemdragons that made me laugh with the flicking the v's Grin
I don't remember swearing in my head when mine were little, just feeling terribly sorry for myself and persecuted.
I'm guessing it's normal to swear outside your head when they're older?

toastbuttababey · 06/06/2021 18:13

Swear all the time in my head or under my breath. I have a 2 and 6 year old and it’s relentless!

I sometimes rush the evening to try and get them to bed earlier - even darken all the rooms to suggest it’s night time.

OhRene · 06/06/2021 20:23

Yeah.... um... In my head. Sure. My head. Totally do that.

MaidEdithofAragon · 06/06/2021 20:26

All the time. And I open the fridge door and flick the Vs behind it where I can’t be seen. They re in their 20s now…

megletthesecond · 06/06/2021 20:28

I'm usually whispering it as I head into another room.

mineofuselessinformation · 06/06/2021 20:38

In the daytime when I got totally exasperated by the constant questions, I used to put headphones on (nothing playing), as if I was listening to music. I'd then say 'I can't hear you' in a loud voice if I saw them saying something.
It kept the questions at a bearable level for the short space of time I wore them.
I'll go and stand in the queue for the 'Bad Mother of the Year' award now..... 🤣

AlmostSummer21 · 06/06/2021 21:51

@ApolloandDaphne

Out loud 'my goodness what is going on here?'

Inside head 'fuck me, what now?

Exactly!!!

Not to mention 'would you just fucking shut up for 2 minutes!!!🤬' 'Yes love'😁
