Home remedies for teen period pains?

DD's (almost 15) period pains have been getting steadily worse over the last 6 months. Spoke to the GP twice now who said the same thing each time - ibuprofen and heat pad. Pharmacist said the same this morning. But it's just not helping. Her period was 12 days late now and started today with awful period pains for her. She's been crying (which is not like her at all) and has thrown up quite violently too. I don't know what to do for her. Any ideas?

Alongside above- The Cycle Diet is helpful- esp eating vegetarian in the couple of days before.

Also raspberries as they tone the uterus. My flow is much easier when I eat a tonne of them the week before.

Poor kid. I remember being in absolute agony when I was 16/17 - don't know why or how I put up with it really. I'm an oldster and in those days you just got on with it. I didn't even tell my Mum.

Mefanemic acid helps the pain but I need
To double up with cocodamol for the first few
Days. It has to be prescribed by the dr.

I also find walking helps too rather than scrunching up in a ball on the sofa, but it takes some effort as it goes against what you want to do.

Glad it helps you, I got told this so often as a teenager but found movement exacerbated the cramps and nobody would believe me.

And sometimes it wasn't an option anyway as the pain would so bad I couldn't walk.

My GP wouldn't let me go on the pill, said it wouldn't help. When I eventually went on the pill for contraceptive reasons I found it did help enormously with the periods.
