without flooding and destroying the grass?? 😭

Is there some sort of product for this?

We work in a team and bucket it away from the lawn mostly. I’ve been considering buying a small pump.

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat · 05/06/2021 14:30

When I was little it was our job to scoop most of the water out with buckets and water the plants with it, the remaining little bit at the end wasn’t a problem to drain then.

ATowelAndAPotato · 05/06/2021 14:33

We get the kids to use their buckets to water the plants etc, and then the last is used to water the grass! We tend to do this after dinner so the leaves don’t get scorched etc.

Water the garden with it, and the grass.

icelollycraving · 05/06/2021 14:36

I’ve been wondering this. Also, do you add fresh everyday?

TeeBee · 05/06/2021 14:37

A submersible pump.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 05/06/2021 14:45

A puddle pump would work. I use mine to empty my hot tub. It would pump out a paddling pool
In minutes. Not cheap at £100 for the pump , flat hose and hose clips. I bought mine because my patio floods a couple of times a year so it was worth it.

Warmduscher · 05/06/2021 14:54

You tip the pool so the water runs under your fence and into your neighbour’s garden, forming a lovely big puddle on their patio. Apparently.

Syphonit · 05/06/2021 15:08

Just emptied an overground pool. If you have a hose:

Attach hose as normal and switch it on, just like you're filling the pool.
When the water starts filling in the pool, switch tap off and unattached hose.
Put hose down drain.
It creates a reverse effect and starts syphoning the water out.

We use chlorine now so keep water for longer which helps!

Elouera · 05/06/2021 15:10

How big is the paddling pool? Surely tipping it on the grass is no different from a heavy rain shower and will soak away? Confused

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 05/06/2021 15:12

I use it to water the plants.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 05/06/2021 15:18

water the flowers

2pinkginsplease · 05/06/2021 15:22

When I was younger my mum used it to water the plants or you can do what our neighbours do and just release it all And it flood s our garden as we are slightly lower than them and they have a huge pool! I can see it causing arguments in the near future! !

CoffeeWithCheese · 05/06/2021 15:37

We have a patio, immaculately constructed with soakaway bits cos the guy who built it lives next door and is an utter perfectionist - but since we've got a bigger pool up at the moment I was planning on connecting the hose and pointing it to the drain and leaving it to drain away overnight when we come to empty the water. By that point most of it will have long since exited the pool via splashing anyway.

BackforGood · 05/06/2021 15:44

Get the kids to water the garden with their buckets for a while.

Does 3 things -

  1. Keeps them occupied for a while
2.Empties the pool
  1. waters the plants

then tip the end dribbles onto the grass.

I'd assume the paddling pool is only out when it is hot anyway so it just soaks in in seconds.
