Lake District walks for 6 year olds.

We're on our way to the lakes for a week. We're staying southern lakes and hoping to take our 6 year olds out on some decent walks.

They do 5-6 miles (with picnic stop) quite regularly. We've done old man and catbells. Plus a couple of other smaller peaks.

Any suggestions? If we could combine with some wild swimming even better!

Skiddaw, of course.

There’s a good one that goes up the back of the Swan Hotel at Grasmere up to Alcock Tarn, then across and down, and across the road to a circular walk of Rydal Water and Grasmere.

Ullwater lake shore would be good (check how far it is) - steamer from Glenridding and walk back. Plenty of beachy bits where you could swim.

Orrest head from Windermere is a great walk and gives lovely views of the lake.
