Is there any way I can stop recurring stressful dream?

Almost every night I have the same dream. I'm trying to pack, and there's loads of stuff, I keep opening drawers or wardrobes and finding more and more random stuff. I'm in a rush and have to pack it all into small suitcases.
It's really stressful! Any way I can stop it? I have very vivid, realistic dreams, it feels so real.

I used to be a chef and I used to have a recurring dream where customers orders come in and when I open the fridges to get the food, they are empty!
Now I'm a nurse and I have dreams where I can't help my patients and the buzzers are all going off at once.
Normally get these when I'm more stressed than usual. It's a good reminder to find ways to relax and de stress.

Horrible isn't it. Thing is I'm not stressed!

Dreams about packing usually symbolize wanting to move on in your life. In your case having to pack lots of little suitcases with endless stuff suggests you're being held back by all the different compartments of your life you're constantly having to organize and juggle. Maybe try to simplify things a bit and you'll feel less stressed and more able to make progress.

Get a dream catcher. We had one for our eldest DD and it seemed to work, she's still got one over her bed now.

I have really vivid dreams as well and I usually love it. I actually often feel as though I'm in the middle of an action film!

I do have two (which I assume to be stress-related) recurring dreams though.

One is either continuously missing trains or being stuck in the middle of nowhere on a train platform with no trains available to where I need to go.

The other involves being back at school about to sit my A-levels and realising that I've done no revision or been to any classes.

Is there anything particularly stressful going on in your life at the moment?

Oh sorry, just seen your update! Is there any that needs resolving?

My doctor recommended magnesium supplements to regulate deep sleep and they worked with my dreams x

So do you no longer dream?

It is supposed to stop you waking up during the R.E.M. stage when you are dreaming so you don’t remember your dreams and aren’t stressed by them . For me it worked . I was tormented by the same stressful dream and woke up exhausted . I don’t have it anymore x

Mindfulness meditation before bed. Try using the Calm app or Headspace.

Google Dream Completion technique by Justin Havens. There's a 6 min video on you tube for dealing with nightmares etc
