Party bag ideas for 5th birthday

It’s my daughters first party at the end of the month. It’s at a soft play and I have absolutely no idea for party bags! I was thinking a bubble wand and a piece of cake? Or a book? But daughter wants bags 😩 help please!

You only need to put one or two bits in it.
Piece of cake
Bubble wand
small pack wax crayons
fancy rubber
colourful pencil
Balloon
small book
little bouncy ball

etc. - Any of the above. Look in The Works, or B and M/Poundland for packs of party bag stuff.

It's a tough one because the parents hate all the junk but the kids truly love it 🤣

My kids love a party bag filled with plastic tat but I'm always conscious of doing them myself as it's so terrible for the environment and it's just filling peoples homes with more rubbish that the kids inevitably lose interest in after one day.

  • You can usually get 10 books from The Works for £10
  • I've found little wooden bead bracelets on Amazon before for a good price.
  • Little packet of seeds?
  • definitely cake 🎂
  • colouring pencils and a ps of paper
  • a wooden stamp and ink pad
  • a bath bomb

A book and small pack of haribo - box smarties or similar. Think we did mr men books at a similar age. Can still put it in a bag. We also did small plant ports and seeds once. As long as they get a piece of cake and some sweets, mine are always happy! Have got brown paper bags from amazon before (like you might get from a sandwich shop), and kids have gone mad with decorating the bags.

Go for a paper bag if possible, saves using plastic. I'd put slice of cake or cupcake, bubbles (always bubbles - poundland have good ones), and then maybe one of either pencil with fun topper or small party bag size of play doh (Amazon sells party selections of play doh), packet of seeds to grow at home (easy ones like cat grass) or small animal toy (from a multipack). You don't need to put much.

Temporary tattoos
Stickers
Never cake, it’s too messy and means u have to faff about during the party, always a wee bag of buttons or smarties or haribo instead.

Go to TIGER if there is one near you, it is absolutely fabulous for this sort of thing. Not crap either.

I finally got away with no bags at all at the 10th birthday party. Laser tag in the woods. Pizza and cake in a tent. "Look! your mum's here! Bye!".

No one seemed to notice the lack of party bag. Best party ever. You have that to look forward to.

I wouldn’t do party bags, most parents don’t want their kids eating lots of sweets/choc or plastic tat they don’t play with.

I would just give out slice of cake and they will have a fab time at the soft play .

The works for the colour in fabric bags and a multipack of mini smarties. Then they have something to carry, something to do and something to eat, and no plastic waste. Dead cheap too.
