Har it escaped from captivity somewhere? Surely they can't live in Oxfordshire?

megletthesecond · 30/05/2021 21:38

One of those sea eagles?

Nightbear · 30/05/2021 21:38

They’re probably sick of the Isle of Wight and have gone travelling!

TigerDroveAgain · 30/05/2021 21:39

It’s probably one of the Isle of Wight birds, they’ve been seen all over England and my friend saw one last year near here

It was exceptionally exciting to see it! I’ve seen them in Scotland but here among the crows and magpies.. brilliant!

I love watching birds of prey soaring on a hot day. You have plenty of them in Oxfordshire, though usually smaller ones!

angorarabbit · 30/05/2021 21:43

Wow, that's exciting....I am envious! I've seen the occasional marsh harrier, but would live to see an eagle flying over my garden!

MustardRose · 30/05/2021 21:45

Fantastic.

We had cattle egrets near here a few months ago. They were in a field of cows up the road. That was a surprise.

TigerDroveAgain · 30/05/2021 21:45

Nightbear

We’re not in the Chilterns but have had loads of red kites for the last 15 or so years. And the buzzards are making a comeback.

They’re stunning

Report it, they seem to get around quite a bit. www.roydennis.org/report-White-tailed-Eagle-sighting
Big aren't they

Northernlurker · 30/05/2021 22:25

Sea eagles have a huge range. It will be looking for a new haunt. Although being as far away from the coast as you can get in the uk is an interesting decision on its part....
