Got scammed, now have £100 for daughters birthday, help!

My daughters 1st birthday is next week and we decided instead of wasting money on a proper party we’d invite all her cousins round for a small gathering in the garden.

We also decided to buy one of them pikler sets as her present so it would last her a number of years and it would be good for all the children to play with at the gathering.

Unfortunately it seems like I’ve been scammed and it’s not actually going to arrive. I’ve raised a dispute with Etsy and am waiting a resolution but in case I can’t get the money back we cannot afford to spend anymore than £100 on something else.

So wise people of mumsnet what would you buy as a present for a one year old that would be able to keep a number of children up to 3 years old entertained for a few hours?

Silly little things in pass the parcel so each child has something, paper and paint to do some painting, a bubble machine, fixings for ice cream sundae, musical chairs, tag, a paddling pool. They will have a great time!

I would get a sandpit (maybe the turtle one with a lid) as it will be great for the party, but also probably get a tonne of use afterwards! Anything to do with bubbles is usually a winner, you can get the machines for around a tenner, although a big bottle of mixture will probably be just as well received. I know it's in the garden, but my little one really likes his disco light, it wasn't very expensive but we have got a load of use out of it, and could be fun.

I’ve never spent £100 on any of my children’s birthdays apart from 18ths and 21sts.

Bubbles are fun for babies to try to catch.

Sorry you were scammed.

It doesn’t matter how much the OP wants to spend, £100 or £10 it’s up to her.

Pavement chalks so they can draw on the patio? £2 a tub

Small padding pools filled with the ball pit balls are good and you can use as a water pool too

Paddling pool, sand pit and ball pit.

A few years ago we bought a small bouncy castle for DS from Tesco (of all places) for about £80. It has a bouncy pool too which you can add water or balls to. We get it out every summer when it’s warm and last year we rigged his slide so he could go down it into the pool.
