What to buy for teachers

We have never really done end of year presents for teachers, when the kids were younger they liked to make a card and that was about it. Not because I dont appreciate their teachers but because I know a lot of teachers and they are inundated with gifts and say they would rather people saved their money.

Anyway DS2 who is my last DC is leaving primary school this year, all my kids have been to the same primary school and had the same teachers and it seems a bit like an end of an era. Obviously not to the teachers but to me it does. I want to get a gift not specifically for his year 6 teacher but all the teachers and support staff.

Ideas so far are a huge box of biscuits for the staff room but is that a bit boring? A pod coffee machine and a selection of pods again for the staff room but will that just make work for them having to clean it etc? Any ideas?

The microwave idea is ridiculous! Just because the posters suggesting it have crappy ones in their staffrooms doesn't mean everyone does!
That kind of gift would have been met with bewilderment at best at my school.

I've been retired for three years, but the pinboard in my kitchen still has a few wonderful notes from appreciative parents on it. And the side of my fridge freezer has drawings of me by past (SN) children. They mean more than any box of biscuits.

Unpopular opinion but... not food or stationery!

LOVE the coffee machine idea though haha so I guess each to their own!

We always do JL vouchers combined with a nice card from us and the DC. Bit boring but goes down well.

Food wise, in the current circumstances, I’d go with individual items that are wrapped with good dates if doing a group present.

Have always avoided mugs and anything with teacher on as know they get a lot of these.

Stationery - e for envelope is how I remember!

The Krispy Kreme idea is a great one.

Microwave or coffee machine would have to be pat tested so might gather dust for a while.

Fruit basket could be a healthier option!

@Checkingout811

Big box filled with stationary items? Pens Pencils Rulers Gluesticks Whiteboard pens Markers

They could leave it in the staff room so people can help themselves when they run out?

I know these things always run out, but I wouldn't consider those things a gift for the staff to enjoy, unlike a selection of cakes etc. that would bring a smile to everyone's faces.

How are all the staff going to share a JL voucher?

I know everyone on here always says it's the handmade gifts that they appreciate the most, but I love it when I get a JL or Amazon voucher from the class! Blush

Cakes would be lovely. Doughnuts also popular (2 or 3 of those big trays from Asda/ Tesco).

Our parents sometimes donate books and it’s very, very appreciated.
