Anyone else find in-ear headphones really painful?!

This might sound weird but I think I must have small or sensitive ear canals as I find wearing any headphones/earphones that you put in your ears really painful and they also fall out! I find the same with earplugs, foam or silicone, I find it really painful to have them in for any longer than a few minutes.

The pain/discomfort continues even once the earphones/earplugs are out. I've had my ears checked recently at the GP (because of dizziness) and no wax or infection issues. I've also always had this since I was a child.

Am I just weird or is this a thing? And are there earphones out there made for small/sensitive ears?

Same here! Even Airpods are uncomfortable but they cost a fortune (well, cost DH a fortune) so I stick with them for as long as I can.

Yes the old-fashioned circa 1985 foamy earphones I never had a problem with. Its the modern ones that are designed to fit inside the ear canal that I can't get on with.

They hurt my dad and me, we have quite small ears and reckon they're just designed for bigger ones!

I used to but I’ve got the Cambridge Audio ones now and they suit me much better than AirPods.

I hate in ear ones, and can't wear proper earplugs. I assume it's a pressure thing. I was so glad when the proper over your ears earphones came back into fashion
