Has anyone successfully learned to play the piano as an 'older' learner?

(By old I mean I'm now the wrong side of 50!)
I play the guitar a bit.. moderately badly ..but enough to enjoy still playing and learning, but my theory knowledge is next to zero. We have a decent keyboard here and having had a few weeks testing a great online learning platform (real teacher not video game style) I have decided to treat myself to a digital piano and really go for it.

I'm not expecting to be great at it, but enjoy learning.. but wonder whether my brain and hands are going to cooperate now I'm a bit older!?

My gran started learning the piano in her late sixties, early seventies. She did quite well I think, got to around grade 3 or 4 level, but really enjoyed it, which is the main thing.

Also, I am a piano teacher. I've taught one man in his seventies who did really well, but he had learned as a child. I learned the flute in my forties. Definitely give it a go! I'm sure your brain and hands will cooperate!

I've learnt to play in my 40s (sort of). I'd never played an instrument or learned to read music so it was completely new.
I've learned from an app rather than lessons as logistically I needed something I could fit in to the odd 20 mins at home in the evening.

I can now read the notes and play pieces across the central 20 keys. I've opted not to learn certain elements for now eg dynamics. So I can play the tune but it isn't 'piano' or 'forte' or 'crescendo' where it ought to be.
I'm learning for fun and relaxation, not to take grades.

Dd is learning properly but in some ways enjoys it less - she has to play pieces. I can choose what I play.

Depends what your ultimate aim is?
